Free Dining to public?

It's not looking that way. Looks like a select few of us have been excluded from any discounts, while everyone around us will be enjoying free dining and/or great discounts.

Thanks, Disney, for excluding some of us!!

I'm not sure that is 100% true. I've only been going to Disney now since 2005. This is the first time I've seen free dining this time of year other than late August until mid to late Sept. If the free dining was going to come out for the general public it will come out in a few days. We just need to be patient. Or some can opt to sign up for the credit card. Just my two cents.

What happens if you book with another promo code (20% off the room rates)...and then the Free Dining comes out let's say 1 week later.
Can you upgrade? Then you would lose the 20% but get free dining?
Is that right?

That is correct, you can not stack the promotions. Sometimes the better deal is actually the % off the room.

Would the promotion, if given to the general public, be in the Disney World Special Offers on the Disney World resorts website? Along with the QXG prommos and such?
I cant get a Visa since Im in Canada. Not that I would apply for one anyway lol. Last thing I need is a credit card.

Yes. But you'd likely hear about it first here on the DIS.

Ahhhh we have insiders here do we ;) Im always on both sites checking, if my persistance is a vurtue, in this situation I will definitely score some free dining. :rotfl:

Yes, this offer doesn't help Canadians at all since we can't have a Disney Reward Visa. I would love to go during the promotion period but it's going to take free dining to make it happen.

Cheers,

Brian

Maybe it's time to apply for the free Disney VISA card? :confused3 There are reports of people applying for it, paying a couple bucks (ok that doesn't make it totally free, but it's their choice), and getting their card in time to book the free dining. No annual fee, use it once a year to keep it active. Pretty easy really.

And remember, the Disney VISA folks were up in arms in August when the AP and GP codes were released and there was no special for them....they'd been spoiled for so long at getting first dibs on discounts and now they thought they were ignored. Well, now of course we know that they weren't ignored, but Disney was holding out with a sweeter deal....but that didn't help back in August!

If you want to maximize your chance to get a discount in the future, maximize your exposure to Disney "memberships'....get the VISA, get an AP, buy into DVC (ok, that may be more expensive than a discount is worth, lol).....and some think that being on every mailing list Disney offers, and getting a planning DVD every month or two might up their chance for an exclusive PIN code by postcard or email.....I'm here to say that's not working for me though...I may have to decorate my Christmas tree exclusively in Disney Planning DVDs they take up so much space, I may not be able to get the tree in otherwise.

I'm sorry you didn't get the deal you wanted....you're signature shows that you are going during the Disney VISA promotion time, so maybe you should jump on applying and expediting a card. There may still be time to get in on it....and if not now, then maybe next year. I applied for the card after watching others get a better deal than me....and now I'm reaping those rewards but it was a bummer that time.

Same here as far as nothing working. I've ordered several planning videos, own DVC, have a Disney Visa, and have signed up for numerous mailing lists and Disney websites and I have never received a special PIN. Of course, there is this Visa special that I can't take advantage of because I'm staying on points, but have never received a postcard or email PIN. It seems to be totally random.
