Free Dining Ticket Question

Okay, I got a package with the free dining with a one day ticket. How long is the one day ticket good for? Does it expire? Can I use it on another trip to upgrade? Do I just keep the room key til then, is that where it will be stored? TIA!!!

1-day tickets do not expire until they have been used. Your 1-day base ticket will be good forever.

Yes, you can upgrade it to a ticket with more days &/or features on a future visit.

Yes, it will be on your room key.

I posed the same question to the CM that booked my free dining stay yesterday. She told me to just keep the key (or keys) and as long as I didn't run it through the turnstiles the one day ticket would still be valid for ONE YEAR from my check-in date.

I had read on the boards here that the one day ticket would not expire so the more I thought about it I decided to call back and ask. The second CM I got said they never expire until used or redeemed for upgrade. So I told her that is what I thought but the CM that booked my stay, who seemed very knowledgable, said it expired in one year. The CM said she wanted to verify the answer and put me on hold. I was on hold for a good 10 minutes. I thought she had forgotten about me but decided to hang in there and wait. She came back on the line and said that she had asked all the CMs around her and they couldn't come to a consensus, so she called ticketing and guest services and got the answer that "YES, THEY DO EXPIRE 1 YEAR FROM DATE OF CHECK IN". She added that if you did not want the ticket to expire after a year you would have to add the non-expiring option. It never occurred to me to asked how much that would be since it is not an option normally available on the one day ticket. Maybe I will call back and ask again.

Has anyone else been told this recently?

We plan to use our tickets from last fall, but it will more more than a year from last year's check in. I could buy another ticket for what it would cost me to add no expiration to our 6 tickets.

ETA: My TA is looking into this.

My TA made 3 calls, and each time she was told that the tickets do not expire. Hopefully this is correct.

Angel's Momma I also hope it is correct that the 1 day passes do not expire because I was planning on using them to upgrade during a future trip that might well be more than a year out from this trip.

Does anyone know if you pay in advance and asked Disney to mail you paper tickets (as opposed to having them put on your key) will they do it? I can't imagine way they wouldn't.

I'd appreciate an answer from anyone who has experience with this!

OK, I just called CRO for the 4th time to try to get a definitive answer on this issue. Was told by CM the 1 day does not expire. Explained the whole story about booking CM stating the 1 year expire and 2nd CM researching and verifying that answer. This CM gave me the number to ticket research. I called and was told the ticket did not expire, then put on hold to double check with other CMs. Came back on the line and stated the 1 day had no expiration. She also said that she has seen one day tickets on room keys in her system and they did not have expiration dates on them.

I want to believe that this is the correct answer. I guess I am still a little nervous inside that when I do try to redeem the ticket if it is past a year it will not work and I'll have lost the value of the ticket.

I guess I'll quit worrying about it for now and try to verify it once I get to disney and have the key in hand!

BTW- I asked if I could get the paper tickets mailed to me and was told when you get a package the tickets have to go on the room keys.
