Directly from Mousesavers.com -- Check back on Monday the 9th for more details-- hopefully this will open up so everyone can use it soon!!I wouldn't have posted this but it has been discussed recently on this board..

A special "free dining" vacation package at Walt Disney World (for check-ins 8/26/07-9/22/07) is scheduled to be released for Disney Rewards Visa cardholders on Monday, April 9. The same package is expected to become available to the general public on Thursday, April 12. If the new package is similar to the one offered for the past two years, it will require you to purchase at least 3 consecutive hotel nights at an official Walt Disney World resort, plus at least a one-day theme park ticket, and you will get a FREE dining package (one counter service meal, one table service meal and one snack, per person, per day) for the length of your stay. This has been a very popular promotion in past years, so I expect rooms to sell out fast. Check back here on Monday for full details.

this is so sad. Our wedding is the next week :sad1: We all check in on September 29th and the wedding is the 5th. We are so depressed about it!!! It would have been AWESOME. Too bad Poly wedding are only October-March cause I would move it up!

If you check in on one of the days included in the free dining-- free dining will be awarded to you throughout your stay (I believe its 5 days of it)... so lets say you check in on the 22nd-- you can stay that week and still receive free dining (for atleast part of it anyway-- depending on how long you stay). Im not sure how many days they give you lee-way but im sure someone might be able to give that info!

The food & wine festival is great though! A lot more crowded in my opinion but definitely great! DH & I caught the tail end of it last year during our wedding and had a good time!popcorn::

Thanks for the information! Our wedding is September 2nd, so this might work well for our guests. Do you know, will people be able to just request the free dining, when they make their reservations? (Either through our "Disney custom" wedding website or the group reservations number.) Also, can people who have already booked rooms request the free dining, providing they meet the 3-night minimum? We've already made our reservations, and I think our parents and some other relatives have as well.

i do know that you can add the free dining to an existing reservation-- if i were you I would try and do this either directly through disney or through a travel agent-- i dont know what kind of info you could do online...:confused3 i hope someone else gives you better info than I can..

Thanks for the response/advice. Since I don't have the Disney Visa card, I guess I'll just try calling on Thursday.

Thanks, for the info, but the wedding is October 5th... so checking in on the 22nd would be AMAZING, but way way way too long for a family of 12 to stay together!!!:rotfl:

Details will come out BUT I am pretty sure that you need to pay "rack rate" to get the free dining. So if your guests are getting some kind of discount for the wedding they may not be able to take advantage of this. My suggestion is to ask...what is the worst they can say? no?

This is very true...you can not take any discounts to get free dining
please do the math before booking...for the price it might be better to take the hotel discount...esp if you are planning more then one dinner for guests...you need to eat all your meals and snacks to only save a little...

I'm pretty sure this would be along the same lines as when you pay for the DDP and the answer we got was that you can NOT purchase it unless you are paying rack rate for your rooms, so since we had the DFTW discount we could not get it. We were really bummed (as were quite a few of our guests who are making a vacation out of their trip to our wedding.) It doesn't hurt to ask, but that is the answer we were given. Hope that helps :)

Yes, thank you!! All this helps clarify the free DDP offer. I emailed guests earlier with the mousesavers posting and figured I'd get some questions as a result. Now I feel like I'll be able to better explain the deal. And then they can decide for themselves whether it's worthwhile.

While looking for more information online, I also stumbled upon the Disney Dining Experience offer for annual passholders. (Our custom wedding gift.) That might look like a good way to save some money, especially since we can use it towards our rehearsal dinner (at the Brown Derby) and the character breakfast with the flower girl we have planned.

I was coming back this morning to suggest the DDE (Disney Dining Experience card). It is true you need the annual pass to PURCHASE it. I am not sure when you get your AP from the wedding. I had an intimate so I am not sure. I know some people have said that you can get it at your planning visit. If that it true then you can call the DDE office and get the card sent to you at home OR you can pick it up at EPCOT Guest services if you give them a few hours.

It is early and I have two kids running around but I hope I explained this well enough. If not PM me and I will help you out more. OHH The DDE is good for 20% off all food and alcohol for 10 people so it is great for an intimate. We made out money back before our first visit was over!

We have the DDE. We got our AP vouchers in November and called to order the DDE in December. We went in January for our PS and took our APs to EPCOT guest services to activate and then they gave us a temp DDE card since ours hadn't come in the mail yet. They are taking about 6 weeks to get to people right now, so if you don't get the real DDE card in time, they can give you a temp card at the guest services window at EPCOT.

Just thought I would let everyone know that I took advantage of the free DDP last September when it was offered and we were able to combine it with an AAA discount on our rooms. I'm not sure how that compares to the rates through DFTW, but it is always worth checking.

Thats what we did, we got our normal AAA discounts on everything and the DDP-- for flight and all for 6 nights we paid just under $1600-- thats food, tickets, lodging, everying! It was so worth it for us-- I really hope we can take advantage of it again sometime.
