free dining this Sept?

How do people get these pin codes? This will be our 7th trip, and never one pin code.

Some people think that saving various vacations (package, room only, deluxe, value, various dates) on the Disney booking website helps trigger to send to you when PINS are going out. I can't say for sure, but I was hearing of PINs being emails for the time frame I was looking at so I did this. Just played and saved a bunch of different trips. I would occasionally go back in and delete 1 or 2 of the 5 saved and try something else. Lo and Behold I received an emailed PIN a short time later. I actually called to see if there was a PIN attached to my name the day before the email arrived. The CM saw that there was and I booked then!

Thank you guys for clarifying this for me! I had talked to a CM at the end of Jan. and been told I could not use my code. So, I called today and talked to the best CM in the world:thumbsup2....Ernestine....I had to go through another CM before I got to her, however! Anyway Ernestine along with our Magical Journey's rep. Denise fixed this for me and we now have Free quick service dining (since we are staying at a Value) for our entire stay! Now, we need to decide if we should upgrade to Basic dining??? Thank you guys so much!:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Is free dining usually only for Quick Service? When we got it in the past it was for regular dining.

I really hope not:confused3

The Free Dining PIN code that is currently out offers Free QSDP to guests staying at a value and Free Basic/Regular/Plus dining to those everywhere else.
There is no telling what will be offered if/when a general public free dining code comes out, but my guess is it would be the same as the current PIN.
However, I believe you would be able to upgrade the Free QSDP to the basic DDP by paying the difference.

We are a family of 5, so we have to get the 2 connecting rooms at the POP. I wonder if it would be cheaper for us to change to the POFQ and get the free regular dining instead of paying the difference from Quick Service.

Does anyone know approx. how much difference the price is to upgrade to the reg dining from quick service??

Thanks!

For a family of 5 it would be about 300 dollars for the week .....that is based on one junior, one child and 3 adults!! I price adjusted for my family as well. We enjoy our one sit down meal everyday!! Hope this helps...have a great vaca!

My friend recieved a code and I didnt'.I called Disney and asked why they told me that if you are registered with disney and they have a valid email you have a chance of getting a pin code. These are sent out by their promotional dept at random. Basically they put the deals in and it sends to certain email addresses. I never recieved my pin but when I called I was told I had a pin for free reg dining however it was only good for check ins through July. I am going in Sept so this did not help me. She also told me if I had her reservation number she could look up the code and price match her package deal. I did not so she talked to her supervisor and was told they had no deals being offered for fall, which is obviously wrong if som many are getting FQSD starting aug 14th!! So I booked my package with dining at full price and I am hoping for free dining even the quick service would save me a bundle with 8 of us I have to pay for!! It's about a 1900. difference!! Praying for free dining and there is my spending money!!!!:cheer2:

I'm crossing my fingers for free dining too. This will be our first trip and would make things so much easier!

If we were to book now and then free dining came out would they charge us to change our reservation?

For a family of 5 you would need to stay at the POR they have the trundle beds in the Bayou section. The POFQ only will allow 4 per room.

Last year we got free dining and were staying in a family suite at ASMusic. We were a party of 3 (2 adults, one child and one under 2) and for a 6 night/7 day upgrade from quick service to the "regular" dining plan I only paid $137 for the entire stay. That's not $137 per person, that's $137 TOTAL. It was a fantastic deal that we couldn't refuse.

I got that pin too. It's for free QS though, no matter which level resort you stay in. I wish we were going!

Yes, I agree...I did the same, only I received my PIN in the mail, not email. So, watch your email & regular mail.

If you already booked at 30% off package deal, can you still get the free dining if its offered? Or do you have to choose one or the other?

I called Disney today and found out I had a pin code for a room discount, which I am thrilled about. But if I can't get free dining when it's offered too that will stink!:sad1:

You won't be able to add Free Dining to a discounted room. Depending on where you stay, and how many are in your party, you can run the numbers and decide which promotion will save you the most. :) If you find that Free Dining is a better savings than what you are saving with your PIN, then you can switch (based on availability).

What number do you call to find out if you have a PIN code? Just 407-W-DISNEY, or is there a more direct route? Did you just ask right up front "do I have a PIN code?"

NO, you would have to call and tell them you'd like to apply the Free Dining code ( make sure you have it- DIS will have it posted) to your reservation. What they will do all in that same phone call is cancel your existing reservation and make a new one exactly the same, only applying the dining code. I've done this a few times : 0 ) The CM's i've had were very efficient and very quick and friendly.
Enjoy your trip and your 2nd one when it comes around. LOL Once is never enough. Usually the 1st trip is a learning experience the rest are vacations!:wizard:

Yes, I just asked if they showed a pin code that I could use, and she said yes! She also said, if Free-Dining comes up, just call back, they would drop the room only discount, and apply the free-dining. Let's hope for free-dining!!!:yay:
