Free dining starts on......

Need some help here, I'm having a Senior Moment. When does free dining start this year? We'll be in WDW May 4-10 and I was hoping it would not be during free dining but I sorta recall reading that free dining starts in April this year. TIA

The promotion fro malst year where Free dining could be booked stats at the end of May for sure. As for for the free dining pin, I can't help you with this.

So the actual free dining doesn't start until the end of May? I'm sorry, I don't think my question was very clear. I'm not trying to get free dining, I'm trying to avoid it. Hoping that May 4-10 will NOT be during free dining.

There were a lot of blackout dates for that offer. I know that we got it for May 28th-June 5th, and it was blacked out again after that for a few weeks. I honestly don't think it was available the first week of May, but of course I could be wrong.

Last year, WDW was offering free dining discounts throughout much of 2011 (I think through September), and folks getting email PINs have continued getting select offers that cover even peak times (such as summer), so there really isn't a "free dining season" anymore, at least not this year.

I know for a fact that the first promotion of free dining was not available your dates as we cancelled our free dining for the end of may and got the kids play free instead for May 1-10. As far as I know, no free dining while you are there unless a pin with free dining became available for those dates but I doubt. We moved our dates from May 28 back to May 1 because we wanted to avoid free dining too.

Yes a pin was mailed and emailed that included FD during May. We were going anyway and we jumped at that pin.

Last year when they offered Free Dining for 2011 it included all months up to the end of September. There were a few black out periods, but even then as long as you check in before the black out period you still have Free Dining for your entire stay.

It was not offered for the first weeks in May, that is when we are going also. Free Dining Pin may have been offered since others are reporting they got one, but I don't have any knowledge of these pins.... but to answer your question Free Dining was not offered to the general public for the first few weeks of May.
