Free Dining - Quick Service Question

We are going to Orlando from May 31 to June 9 and plan on doing disney for half that time.

I missed the 'special offers' from a couple of weeks ago, but read on this forum about calling WDW reservations and asking if I have PIN code associated with my name/address.

I did so yesterday and they offered me free dining with a stay and MYW pass.

We have been to WDW many times but have never taken that offer. Is the consensus that it is a good deal? How about the Quick service version?

We were going to stay off property (found a hotel at $70/night) but now am debating changing to stay and take the offer.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

We usually find that FD is the best deal for us. You need to break it down to compare apples to apples.

How many are going, ages, what do you like to eat, etc. Look at the menus (available at the top of the Dis screen) and see what you might order. We have done it all...all the way up to the Deluxe Dining Plan and find that we can easily share QS/CS meals, which frees some up to use at other meals. Sometimes we add a drink or side or snack OOP (out of pocket) here and there, but FREE dining can't be beat. You can look up the cost of the QS if you were to pay for it and see how that compares to what you would spend.

So add up your trip both ways:
1) Your OffP hotel at $70 plus what you'd spend on food (and parking at $12 a day at the Disney parks)
2) Staying OnP, free QS and free park parking.

See what comes out better. That is really the ONLY way to compare offers.

Have a great trip! :cool1:

How many adults and how many kids (under 10) are in your party? Which level are you staying value, moderate or deluxe?

Since you are paying full rack rate on the hotel to get the "free dining" offer, then you must decide what works best for your party given Disney variables.

Bascially the QSDP is $34.99 per day for adults, and $11.99 for kids 3-9.

For my family of four (two adults, two teens) the Free QSDP is a discount $139.96 per day. Now, I will have to pay full rack rate for my room, but with two teenagers (plus the fact we all four get a refill mug for free as part of the QSDP) its our best deal.

Before I got FD, I had a 30% off room code that saved me around $650 for our trip (Port Orleans Riverside is our hotel) that is 14 nights long. FD was more llike $1959. Still, I had to figure the higher room rate, but bottome line, this is saving us far more than $650.

Its all about how many people in your party, what the ages are.

Don't forget to add parking at the parks to your offsite choice.

For us, staying onsite works since we get Magical Express. Whenever I do the math at staying offsite, by the time I add a rental car, parking and loss of EMH, its not as deep a savings as I would think. Its just different for every family, if we drove for example, staying offsite would make more sense.

Good luck, if you do your homework it helps you make the best choice!
