We booked the POFQ from 10/27-10/31(4 nights, 5 days), with Free Dining (1 quick service, 1 snack, and one table service meal). I am looking at the info for the dining plan and it states, "per night of your package stay for everyone ages 3 and over." Since we are staying for 4 nights, but will be at WDW from Saturday to Wednesday, which is 5 days, we will need to buy meals OOP for one day?

Even though our first and last days are partial days, I thought we got Free Dining from the moment we checked in until the moment of our check-out time. So, we would get 5 days worth FD? I guess I am wrong on this?

I guess I assumed that even though 10/27 and 10/31 were partial, non-park days for us, we would still get all of our Free Dining for each of those days (1 snack, 1 table service and 1 quick meal)? No?

Your dining plan does begin at check in and you can use the credits from then until midnight of your check-out day. However, the number of credits you have are based on the nights you stay. So you will each have 4 QS, 4 TS, and 4 snacks.

Since arrival and departure days are partial, most people will use a TS for that first night and each full day after which uses up those 4 TS credits. Then use a QS on departure day along with the three full days before and use up the 4 QS credits.

You could also use a QS on that first night and save a TS for a character breakfast/lunch on your departure day.

Exactly as the PP stated. Y'all will have four sets of credits.

However, I doubt you will truly need to buy a whole days' worth of food for everyone OOP.

Rest assured that WDW portions are huge, and it is easy to stretch your credits if you share large CS meals, share large snacks, and use other snack credits to buy pastries or other things for breakfasts. Especially if you're using your TS credits on any buffets/character meals. Waaaay to easy to stuff yourself silly at a WDW buffet.

dining is for each night you stay so you will have from time you check in until midnight of the day you check out to use them all. 1 TS is good for a character breakfast and then say use the CS for dinner or can use 2 TS if wanted to go to Castle to eat as a few take 2 TS like signatures.. but most are 1 TS you will have more than enough food. not sure how old kids are or if have any but if so most CS could be split but cannot split TS meals. mwe are three adults and big eaters and we end up the last day with several CS left and try to eat them up and always take all out snacks home or send a box of them home with odds and ends as we take a box for this and can mail from resort front desk. I put the lable on it before I leave and take my tape and then just fill it and take up and mail it.

Is this a change from previous years? In 2010 I got 16 CS & 16 snacks with 7 night stay. I know you only get one snack credit per night now but they also took off the "day" credits?

It's always been based on the number of resort nights. So I would think you either stayed 8 nights or had 14, not 16.
