Free dining QUESTIONS - trip has already been booked weeks ago

So we booked a trip Oct 2-9 weeks ago. We used a debit card, so it's mostly all paid off.
Dillema: I have a Disney Visa and now that free dining is out, I would love to get it,
BUT WILL THAT MEAN THAT I HAVE TO CANCEL THE ORIGINAL RESERVATION, AND START OVER?
Should I just wait until it's released to general public and then I won't have to start over?
We are staying moderate hotel..
does this mean that I just get free dining with the counterservice plan?
What if I wanted free dining with the counterservice and the tableservice plan, would I pay more with the free dining?

call CRO and ask them to apply Disney Visa free dining to your existing reservation. I'm not sure how they will handle your payments that you already made; they may have to refund the debit card you used and apply the new down payment on the Disney Visa which is required to book today.

The dining plan on the free dining promotion is the basic plan; 1 CS, 1 TS and 1 snack per day per person. You can upgrade to the deluxe dining plan fotr an additional cost.

I believe that you could get a credit on your debit card for the amount that you have paid and then they will charge your Disney Visa. You should not have to cancel your existing reservation.

The special includes the dining plan that has 1 table service, 1 counter service and 1 snack.

Be careful because from what I'm reading there are conflicting reports on whether you can get Free dining for any dates past 10/3.

My sister just called and said that as long as you book before 10/3, you get free dining the whole time.

I'm on the phone with Disney now, she said the DEPOSIT had to be on the Disney Visa for changing an existing reservation for free dining.

so maybe they can credit your debit the deposit amount then charge the deposit to your D Visa today???

OH wow!!! This is GREAT!! Not only did i NOT have to change anything reservation wise, but I was refunded over $600 and now have counter service AND table service!!! WOOHOO!!! I'm so HAPPY!!!!
Because i have put the original deposit of $200 on my disney visa, I didn't have to start over. She just applied the code.
