If a free dining promo comes out, how many days of tickets do you usually have to buy? I was thinking of going this May for 5 days, but buy 10 day Non-exp. tickets, and go back in 2013, but was wondering about FD.

I'm pretty sure you only have to purchase 1-day tickets for everyone on the reservation in order to use the Free Dining promotion.

Sorry, that information is incorrect. You only have to buy 1 day admission to purchase the Dining Plan. You have to buy 2 day admission to get the Free Dining (all within the same Vacation Package)

ETA: So you would be fine for this trip, but if you wanted to use the rest of the non-expiring tickets next year, and hoped to do FD again, you would still have to buy 2 day tickets for everyone in your room. Might not be a savings there.

It's at least 2 day park tickets with the package for free dining. You can buy tickets in any length you want as long as they are for at least 2 days.

Just keep in mind that if you want to take advantage of any type of package promotion in 2013, you will have to buy tickets for that. So that would wipe out any savings you would realize by purchasing the 10 day no expire tickets now.

Thanks that's what I was thinking. I keep going back and forth on buying the 10day no-exp tickets. I guess I'll decide one day. :rotfl:

I would opt for the 10 day no expiration route as the cost per day is really reasonable considering that you intend to return at least once or twice. Even when you consider having to buy again to obtain free dining. After all they do not expire and ticket cost will never decrease. We use are park hopper no expiration days in conjuntion to buy maybe a 4-5 day pass. It subs for days we want to park hop and not pay that expense for the free dining tickets that we must buy. We plan out, somewhat, the trip to try to buy more days to lower the cost and bank our no expiration days.
