Free dining question

Sorry if this question comes up a lot. I tried searching and I tried googling, but to no avail. I know tons about DLR, but WDW can still be a bit tricky.

Anyway, though I know there can't be any predictions about next year, I was wondering if free dining has been offered during June or July or the beginning of August in the past? From what I've found, it's usually the end of August through September. Is that the only time?

I think I have heard of people getting it at other times but only by pin codes that were sent specifically to them, not in a general public offer. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable than I will help you out further!

Free dining is a way to fill the resorts and to get people to spend their money on tickets and rooms. They don't have that problem in June and July. In Aug and Sept, lots of kids have gone back to school and hurricane season is in it's prime time.

Free dining has never been offered in high summer at all.

PIN codes came out in 2008 and 2009 for certain dates in late October, November, and December. In 2008 these dates were also open to Disney Visa cardholders.

The only general public offers have been mid-August through September or early October.

Thanks for the info everyone! This is my 5th visit to WDW (I've lost count for DLR), but my first for either resort during high season in over 10 years. I've never paid attention to high season deals or plans, so I've been feeling a bit confused. At least now this mystery is solved.
