free dining question

okay, it's probably been asked and answered here, but I just found out we might be having a vacation this year in Aug. Are they only a certain amount of rooms available to book to receive the free dining plan? If so, about how many?

Yes....there are only so many rooms put aside per resort for the FD promo. How many is anyone's guess. When I was on the Disney site earlier playing around August still seemed to hace avalibility at all of the resorts I tried.

Do the resort nights have to be at the same resort? We're thinking of split staying between contemporary and pop. Also what happens if we have credits left when we check out?

You can split stay .But I believe it is 2 separate ressies and requires 2 separate deposits etc. You have until Midnight of check out day to use credits. Any credits not used are lost...No refunds or anything

Remember, split stays with free dining also require purchasing two separate park tickets. You would likely have to buy a multi-day ticket on the first stay, and then a single day (~$80 per person) on the second stay. You would need a minimum 3 nights in both locations, the minimum for the FD package.

Also, the dining credits from the first stay would expire on the last day of that stay (the day you check out), so that should be considered as well. I personally would not do a split stay with FD.

I also had a question....Small world quoted me a discounted summer rate for CSR...can that be combined with free dining too? Or can you only pick one or the other? Sorry if this has been asked before...I read through the stickies and didn't see the answer.

It's generally one or the other. No stacking discounts.
