Free dining Question.....

We have a trip planned during free dining in september - I thought that I had heard reports of people exchanging 1 TS credit or a CS credit and 2 snacks.

Anyonw know about this?

last year they WOULD allow swapping 1 ts for 2 cs- BUT there is no way to know if they'll do it again.
I'll be checking back on the boards once free dining has started in august and i'm sure someone will post something about it.

Never heard of that one...I heard of the 1 TS to 1 CS plus either 1 S or a Mesh Bag.

Last year it was one TS for either two snacks or a little mesh bag. We were on the DxDDP and did it a couple of times. At least we did the 1 TS for 1 CS and 2 snacks. We never did the exchange for the mesh bag. They were behind the counter. We asked to see them, but they were very small, flimsy, and cheap looking, so we didn't want them and chose the two snacks instead.

Who knows what Disney is going to offer this year. Every year it changes. In 2007 you could exchange one TS for one CS and a lanyard with two pins. The first year free dining was offered, no exchanges of any kind was allowed. If you didn't use your TS credits, you just lost them. Again who knows what the deal will be this year. So far it has changed every year. We've been every year in Sept since free dining was first offered. We just plan to use all of our TS credits on TS.

Sorry, but again the deal was 1 CS plus either 2 snacks or a mesh bag for 1 TS. Disney had never offered a 2 CS for 1 TS deal and they have definitely never allowed anyone to trade any amount of CS up to a TS. Wish they would!

Disney will usually announce it just before free dining starts and of course it will then be all over these boards, so you'll know before you ever get down there. Last Sept we had upgraded from the basic free dining plan to the deluxe DDP. On the Deluxe plan credits are not differentiated between CS or TS, they are just meal credits that can be used for either counter service or TS. I knew a TS credit could be exchanged for a CS and two snack credits, because of what I'd read here on the DIS before I left, but because the Deluxe credits are not separated between CS and TS, for some reason I did not even expect to get the snack vouchers when we went to the CS restaurants on the DxDDP. The CM totally surprised me when she handed me the two snack vouchers automatically. When I asked her about it, she said anytime you use a TS from the basic DDP or any meal credit from the Deluxe plan you get either two snacks or the mesh bag, in addition to your CS meal.

Again this was for last Sept and every year the offering has changed, so who knows what Disney will be offering this year. Just keep watching here on the DIS and when someone knows, it will be all over this board.

Just out of curiosity, last year did they allow you to exchange a KIDS TS credit for a CS and 2 snacks, too??

My son (just barely turned 3 when we get there) will probably be asleep through some of our TS meals (non-buffets) and what would we do with his credits then, ya know?
