Free Dining Question

Hi,

We have the free dining in Sept. and have never been able to use it before. I understand the list of restaurants and that some take 2 dinners, but what about cost of the meals? I am assuming you can order anything you want no matter the cost of the meal. We think Capt. Jacks looks good for the twin lobster tails and we also want to try the Special Meal at Morocco that is about $40 per person. It is not a 2 meal restaurant, so I assume we can order what ever we want . Am I correct.

Got the twin lobsters last Sept. and also have ADR's at Capt. Jacks in June and Sept. and plan on getting the lobsters again. Very little restrictions from what is on the menue that I hear, past 2 years on the DDP everything we ordered was ok, had lots of steak, lobster at CJ. and fish.

there are specific restaurants that require 2 table service credits to eat there. Those that require 1 table serv credit allow you to order anything on the menu EXCEPT those items that are clearly marked as requiring 2 credits. Not every restaurant offers items requiring 2 crdts. but those that do will make it clear which items those are.

That's the beauty of the dining plan...eating at places that you might not if paying out of pocket

How do you know what foods you can't order before you get to the restaurant? The thing is, we picked Marrakesh for the tast of Morroco or whatever it is called that is $40 but if we can't order it, we will go for Coral Reef instead. If I called Disney Dining, could they tell me?

Be cautious if you intend to order anything like the "special meal" that consists of a fixed-price offering of items that are also available on the regular menu. Many restaurants do not permit these to be ordered on the dining plan. I don't know about Marrakesh specifically. I do know that Chefs de France does not permit ordering of the "French menu" on the dining plan, and you can't get the Northwest selection menu at Artist Point. If you're on the deluxe dining plan, you can assemble the same offerings by picking them off the regular menu. If you're on the basic plan, you can assemble all but the appetizer.

Sorry to go off topic from the OP..but....I do have a free dining question, so maybe it's not that off topic.

We have the free dining for September this year. Will Disney send us a brochure outlining the DDP? I have a pretty good idea of how it works, but would still like to have the actual copy of it from disney. (That's just part of my OCD personality. )
