Free Dining Question

Hello all. I have a question. I'm definiatly going to Disney this year with my babies, and my friend and her son. I'm hoping, though, to have my sister and brother-in-law come along with us. So I'm trying to convince them. They're almost sold, but the price is hanging them up a bit. So I was hoping to be able to tell them about the free dining, but I don't fully understand it myself. Could someone please explain it to me in small, simple words? (I'm very, very tired.) I understand you just have to go when the free dining dates are, but how do you know when they are? How much notice do you get? Can you change your dates of travel to the free dining dates if you've already made reservations? Thank you very much in advance for all your help. I know I'll get lots of good advice.

The past two years free dining ran the last part of August through September. There is no word of free dining yet his year. Many diser's like your self are keeping our fingers crossed as well. Word is that if free dining is to be offered it will be released in early April.

Melissa, as Crazy4Disney06 said, at this time, free dining is not available to you. Free dining was available this year to people travelling from the UK and to those that were in WDW late last year and took advantage of the bounce back offer. If it is offered again, do not expect it to be in Nov. but rather during the hurricane season. If your dates are flexible, I would consider trying to book at a time when some of the discount codes that are being used are available. Call CRO to find out what discounts you might be able to get. You asked if you could change your dates of travel and that would of course depend upon the nature of your package and looking at the terms and conditions of it. If you booked through Disney, the quick answer with enough notice, yes.

You can make any modifications, including changing travel dates as long as:

1. Your final Payment is not yet due
2. There is availability on the new dates that you wish to travel
3. You have not yet paid in full (I believe this paart is true as well, but I am not sure)

There may be other rules that apply, but I would just make sure to book through a reputable travel agent, they can take care of all of the details for you.

Now I've learned something new. I was under the impression that the Dining Plan for an adult for example.. was 38.99/day for the 1 CS, 1 TS and 1 Snack plan. Regardless of resort.

I assumed the Premium and Platinum Plan were the same idea. A higher fixed rate per day regardless of resort.

Is that wrong?

Knox, was wondering if you got your answer? (it couldn't be different price based on resort, I don't recall ever seeing that either!).

Just to be clear, the price for dining doesn't change, but your costs will vary depending on which resort you choose. Obviously, a value resort will cost less per person, per day than a moderate or deluxe.
