Free Dining Q's

I'm not going until September 2010 and we have no clue if they'll be doing the free dining BUT I wanted a few questions answered anyways.

If you have your trip already booked before they announce the free dining, can you still get it? Do you have to call with a code or add it on? Do you have to have the dining option purchased already or does that not matter?

I also read somewhere that it all has to be booked on a Disney Visa, is this true? Where can you get one if it is... ??? Thanks so much! This board rocks!

Do you have to call with a code or add it on? YES, when the code is announced you will need to call and have it applied to your reservation Do you have to have the dining option purchased already or does that not matter? NO- you don't have to have already had the dining plan the new code will add that to your reservation

YES AND NO, usually they annouce a code that is only for the Disney Visa holder you could then call if you have a Disney Visa to get the deal but you do not have to use the Disney Visa to pay for it. Within a couple of weeks they usually will announce another code for the general public - usually it is the same deal but not always. Where can you get one if it is... ??? You don't need to have a disney visa. It's just that free dining is offered to disney visa cardholders before everyone else. I am not a disney visa holder and have done free dining.

Unless it's changed, we added free dining last year after we had already booked the resort. And we had not purchased the dining plan. However, from what I understand, and I may be mistaken, there are only so many free dining offers per resort. So if you add it after, you may need to change resorts to get dining free. We stayed at POFQ so this wasn't a problem for us.

If I book with free dining, I know it's the basic one TS, one CS and one snack per person per day. Would I be allowed to upgrade to the Deluxe Dining or would that be fully out of pocket?

You can upgrade to the deluxe dining plan. You just have to pay the difference in price between the two plans.
