FREE dining plan for kids in 2026 is valid for DVC point stays

I was surprised to see the free dining plan for kids applies to DVC point stays for both regular dining plan and quick-service dining plan.

Given that it can be combined with other discounts, it does make some sense. Ordinarly, the Dining Plan requires a hotel package, but DVC Members can add a "dining-only" package. This might just be leveraging the same mechanism.

For 2025, the DDP is just about $100/day/adult. Figure that will go up a little for 2026.

Above it states $91.82 per adult plus tax. So for 9 nights for two adults that comes out to 1652.76 plus tax.

The other would be $999.54 plus tax

I've never been a dining plan person, but we normally do weekend stays and can get two dinners and two lunches for 241 (quick service) or 394 (half and half table), plus includes bonus snacks and beverages. Honestly might do it every stay next year.

$100/day seems like a lot. I am guessing that is because I don't drink? I can't see how I would spend $100/day on meals even going somewhere expensive like Boma every day, but I guess alcohol could make those numbers work. Maybe if we travel with friends who drink, I could pass over a second drink to them. If you drink and bring kids, that seems like the numbers should work out.

Dining Plan = Convenience, not a discount.
Kids Eat Free is a huuuuuuge perk. Think about $35-$45 per kid, per character meal.

1) you buy DDP for a reservation length or for arbitrary # of days?
2) what happens if that reservation needs to change (e.g., 3 nights at PIT is now 5 nights at CCV)?
3) what happens if you have to cancel the trip altogether? DDP refunds right?

1.) has to be length of stay
2.) You can book just for PIT, just for CCV, OR book for both. If you split resorts you can pick and choose your DP strategy. Keep in mind, the refillable mug would be good for 14 days.
3.) yes refund, if paid with gift card it gets refunded to that gift card, don’t lose it lol

My understanding is that the DDP is linked to a stay, not to a park ticket.
