I need help...

I was ecstatic this morning when I found out this morning that Free Dining was offered thru Dec 21. Then I came crashing down when I found out there was a blackout period between 10/7 and 10/22... right during my DD's fall break.

Decision time... Do I cancel fall break res and try to book around Christmas when free dining is available?

OR

Do I hold out to see if those blackout dates come available?

Does any remember if those blackout dates opened up last year?

Thanks, All....

I would cancel and book around Christmas, like the week before. Awesome time to go. And I do bet that week in October is the time for A LOT of school's fall break and Disney does know this. They don't miss a beat, trust me. Our school's fall break happens to be the week before that and I am really surprised that it is not that same week.

As long as you check in the last day of the Free Dining, then you can still get it for your entire trip. So if the black out starts Oct. 7 th as long as you check in on the 6th you get Free Dining for the entire trip.

I don't think that's correct. I originally booked from Dec 4-14 and was told that I don't qualify. I would have to check out on Dec 10 and check back in again to qualify for free dining. So, I did the next best thing. I cancelled those dates and booked from Dec 11-21!:dance3::cheer2::cool1:

I'm sure it worked that way last year. I know it works that way during the regular Free Dining time. I booked the last day of the offer and I have it the entire time.

I thinks this poster is correct, I believe. When we went last year, I don't believe they were anywhere this number of blackout dates as this year. That is a major change even I will note this year.

Wait, does this mean I could get free dining for October 20th and 24th?

Only if you check-in on Oct. 22. If you check-in on Oct. 20th, then they won't give it to you. I know because our vaca was Oct. 17-22. I tried to extend it to Oct. 23 but that didn't give me FD. CM said it's based on check-in date, not if your trip falls during a FD offer. So in just a few minutes I'm calling to book for Oct. 22-28. We save $1000 and get an extra night's stay. It's worth it to rebook for us! :wizard:

Yes, your entire package will qualify for the promotion if your check IN date is a Free Dining date.

Since Oct. 6th is, you would be all set.
