Free Dining PIN Codes for Late 2010 Discussion Thread

I was searching my mail history and I realized I got this:

However, I am already going during free dining August 17-28 2010.

I do have a question though, I got another pin that gives me 30% off my room rates and I was wondering if I can add that even though I already have the free dining offer for this August (not pin but the one provided for the general public)?????

No, sorry you can only use one promo at a time. I wish you could, I got a 40% off my stay pin, which I used at first until FD came out. Since we have 5 Disney adults in our party FD was a better deal for us. You should work the numbers and see what is a better deal for your group. It really depends on what resort you are staying at and how many people you have in your group.

Hello everyone...
Yesterday, I called WDW Travel Company to inquire about a possible trip in the late fall...
I asked if we had any pins attached to my name...she said I did, and it was free dining until December 16th...

I asked if this was for all resorts and she said "no." It was for moderate and deluxe resorts only...I could only start booking AFTER July 15th though and I had to travel between October 3rd and December 16th...

I then asked if I would get anything for staying in a value resort, and she said "no"...which I found REALLY odd...

So, my speculation is that free dining will be extended, but ALL people will receive the QSDP...if people have PIN's, they will be able to upgrade if they stay at a moderate or deluxe...

What do you all think? Do you agree? Do you think it's odd that they didn't offer me anything for staying at a value? Also, do you think they'll make the announcement around July 15th? Give me your thoughts!!! Thanks

I made my ADR's already for my week after Thanksgiving in anticipation there MIGHT be extended free dining.

In reality, I am hoping there is not.

You may want to check over on the discount and codes board.

Some people have reported that some of the CM's are getting tired of being bombarded with constant calls of people who are asking if there is a pin code attached to their name.

Some people are coming up lucky and finding out they do have one.....such as the OP.

There is lots of info over at the discount and codes board.

It is a discount sent to you via mail or e-mail, very randomly.

I got my first one in ten years; it was 40% off all resorts across the boards.

But it is done to fill rooms; so you have to check availability for your resort.

This year I was lucky and POR was eligible for my week, but not for the first day because it was still considered peak season. I was able to get the code for the last six nights, and I booked a room-only for the first night at full rack rate.

Last year, there was a public offer for the 4/3 for my week, but POR was already full and so it didn't qualify. I moved over to SSR at a savings. Pretty neat.

You also cannot stack discounts, so you have to do a comparison. Some people say a free dining discount or pin will be a big savings for them, while I travel alone and pay double occupancy, so the room discount was absolutely perfect for me!

So sometimes a public offer discount works better than a pin.

The offer shows that the free dining is valid up to 11-23 and then from 11-28 on. What happens if you checkin on 11/18 and stay till the 28th. Do you only get free dining from the 18th to the 23rd or do you get it for the whole trip?

Our last travel day has to be 11/23 in order for the system to let her use it. UGGGHHHHH!!! Oh well...I still have my current reservation with 30% off rack rate and I had her put a complimentary hold for 40% off rack rate for a standard view at AKL. Guess I'm not doing too bad even if I can't get free dining!

What if you split the reservation and had 2 reservations? One from 11/20-11/23 with Free Dining and the other from 11/24-11/27 with the room discount? Just a thought!

We know Disney offers promotions such as FD to fill vacant rooms and we know that FD is best value if you stay in the value resorts, we also know they have little trouble filling value resorts to the point where they have been known to overbook and then upgrade people for free to OKW and SSR which are deluxe accomadations, so to answer your question yes I could see them not offering FD for the value resorts if they need to fill rooms in the moderate and deluxe resorts only.

I booked early december using the monster code in a moderate. Wonder if FD would be a better value... Guess I'll have to wait and see when and if it comes out.

Funny. I just called Disney and didn't have this PIN attached to my phone number. Ok, no problem.

Then, she says, there are no FD discounts going to be offered at all this year. I tell her I have seen the Snow White offer. She tells me I'm wrong!! I guess it just depends on who you get on the phone!!
