Free Dining offer received in the mail today

I got a PIN code offer for free dining in the mail today good for 4-night non discounted vacation package good for travel from March through July 3rd. Value, moderate, deluxe or villas.

But here's the catch...it's only for counter service. We've all gotten used to free table service dining. Maybe this is Disney taking baby-steps to ween us off of the discounts/promotions.

Unfortunately, our next trip is planned for December, but I may call to see if I can pay additional for table service. Quick service is still a good offer, but we still prefer table service/character meals for our vacation.

I have this pin code also and called to see how it compared to the 35% discount we are getting right now.

Yes you can pay the difference and upgrade to regular or even Deluxe dining.

Depending on where you are staying the current % discount may work more in your favor. We are staying at the Poly, so the room discount is still saving us around $400 more than the free QS dining would.

Also do you know if you get the free dining counter service how much more it would be to upgrade to the deluxe?

No, I haven't registered for GAD. Not sure about the upgrade fee, but my guess is it would be the difference in standard rates. Which would be $10 for adults and $2 per child per day.

There is no rhyme or reason to pin codes. I have been going for several years, and had already booked my trip for this year, before I even went last year - and got a pin code. Of course, it wasn't for my dates and I couldn't use it.

As far I know, most of them come via e-mail, when you are signed up on Disney's website.

Last year, the 4/3 deal was extended, but it wasn't available for my home resort, so I chose another resort, and I was very disappointed... I wished I had bucked it up and just stayed at the resort I liked and had already paid for.

So codes and deals aren't always perfect.....

That's true, I think the package we finally agreed on is a better deal than getting free dining. If we were sticking with the values I would totally love free dining lol.

Not sure about delux but in my case with a family of 4 the difference between q-serv and sit down is $384.....a no brainer for me....I'm hoping for a pin shortly as we booked POFQ 8/13 to 8/21....got the $500 gift card but would gladly give it up for free chow!!!

That's the price difference from QSDP to DDP. If you want DxDP then the price difference is $40 adult and $11 per child.
