Free Dining Oct-Dec Is Here!!

Thank you! I've questioned her at least three times about it and she is insistant that all payments must be made on the Disney card.

I am also going to have to find a link with the 60 day check in cause she is insisting its 10...unless we're locked into 10 because we bookes before it changed to 60 days...

Should have booked it myself!!! But we're traveling with other families and its there first time..m

Okay, so I couldn't really find anything other than one line on Mousesavers that says you have to make a $200 deposit to book. However, I did read that in order to get the on board credit from Disney Visa for Disney cruises, you have to pay the whole cruise with the DV. I would reach out to the TA one last time and let her know that you are 100% certain that only $200 needs to be paid with the Visa and ask her to please call for you on Monday to see if she can have the discount applied. Tell her that if she is unwilling to try, that you will regretfully have to cancel your reservation with her and take care of it yourself. Honestly, any good TA would take their customer's word and at least try for them no matter what they thought the rule was. Sorry you are having to deal with this.

ARGH my TA is insisting that all payments must be made on the Disney visa in order to get a Disney visa discount!!!! Any suggestions???

Tell her she is mistaken and to check with her supervisor - or Disney - to get the facts straight.
Btw, if it's the FD discount you're talking about, it's not a DV discount anyway. Having a DV card just entitles you to have the FD discount applied to your reservation a few days before the GP offer goes live. You only need to have paid a minimum of $200 on your DV card to be eligible for the DV early FD offer.

So my current package that I have is booked through AAA, which I have been making payments on for the last several months (all on my Disney Visa). So if booking starts at 7am for the free dining for DV cardholders, how do I do this? My AAA office does not open until 9am. Would Disney be able to make that change, as they do see my reservations or do I have to wait until 9am, call my AAA agent, then she calls Disney to rebook?

Get in touch with your agent ASAP and have him/her apply it as soon as it comes out.

I had an EXCELLENT AAA agent a few years ago. FD offer was coming out. But she was going on vacation that day. Still, at 6am that morning I had an email confirming she had applied the FD offer.

She eventually moved on to other parts of AAA no longer doing travel planning. Never got someone as good as her. Once a TA simply told me 'don't count on me on doing that...'

Ordered my card Friday, it just came in the mail! Yay! Now July 29th needs to hurry haha!

I ordered mine Friday too but still nothing. :(

***For Anyone Who Is Thinking About The Disney Debit Card***

They currently have an offer that if you open a new checking account, make a $100 deposit within 10 business days & setup Direct deposit (within 60 days of opening your account) with at least $500 deposited monthly you can get a $200 bonus!!! Here's the link to the page that will generate the a code for you https://www.chase.com/ccp/index.jsp?pg_name=ccpmapp/shared/marketing/page/229219_200_frdm_lg&ID=0000015611&jp_aid_a=rg/10856/int/rg_10856_15611_cighalf_32264/cighalf

Note!!!! I created my account last Friday and just found the offer today so I sent them a message and said when I first setup my account I tried to enter a code and it didn't take it so I assumed it was because I hadn't setup direct deposit so I opened my account to get an account number so I could. Then I went on today and tried to add a code (in the customer service section) and it said I was ineligible. They just responded and THEY ADDED THE CODE FOR ME!!!!!!!!! So if anyone just opened an account I would give it a try. :thumbsup2

This is true but I upgraded to the premier and WOW have I noticed how much quicker I am earning those $$$. We received one of the $100 offers to upgrade so we did.....

I jumped on it when it came out - at the time they had 3 months of 5% in gas/groceries/restaurants I think. I wasn't sure if I would make enough in the extra percent to cover the annual fee.

The rep went thru my account and got me how much I had been spending on those categories. With just the previous 4 months I had covered the annual fee.

If you charge most of your purchases on the card, the annual fee is recouped in no time. I know there are other cards that give you better options. But it works great for us...

This year, we used all our rewards in our Feb cruise. I already have 350 points... :)

TA could be confused with a DCL cruise. Those must be paid in full with the DVR card in order to get the special on board credit.

But for a Disney package, only $200 on the card (ie, the package deposit) is required.

Put it this way - if you were to make a NEW reservation on Monday, only a $200 deposit on the DVR is required. The rest can be paid any other way later on.

Definitely not so! You just need to pay the $200 deposit! I confirmed this with my TA bc I didn't put my deposit on my Visa. So she is actually going to charge the Visa and refund my original deposit bc I am paying everything else in Disney Gift Cards.

Hey guys, I don't know if this will help, but the fine print at the bottom of the current offer on Disney Visa site says only down payment has to be made on DV. Here is the link:

Hoping common sense will TA that the deposit required is always $200 for MYW. Good luck!!! And I hope all works out! We are here if you need to vent.:)

I have a lot more time to Dis during the summer. I hate swimming, so I let the kids swim while I read the boards poolside. Once school starts and University of Dayton athletics get going, I will be busy, busy, busy. Between football, volleyball, basketball and the kids having tae kwon do two nights a week, my nights will be full. I volunteer at school at least two days a week for several hours, so I have too much on my plate to apply for the Mom's Panel. Their answers always seem very generic to me. I like it here where I can get to know people a little bit. :goodvibes

I know they have had some guys on the panel. You'd be a great addition. I've never understood why it had to be called the "mom's" panel. Being a dad or not even a parent doesn't mean you can't know a lot of valuable information. :goodvibes

Off to bed early this evening. DD has a pool party to go to tomorrow, and of course it is only going to be 73 degrees for the high. This particular pool must hate us. The kids took swim lessons there years ago and it was 50 degrees all week in the middle of summer! I was literally wearing jeans and a sweatshirt while they were freezing in the pool. At least it will be warmer this time. Lol

Goodnight! :goodvibes

Yeah, probably not nearly as fun as these boards! ;)

I sympathize with your crazy school-year schedule. Two of mine are in year-round school. We went back to school last week, so my time on here is already getting crunched. When ballet, swim team, piano, running club, and soccer get rolling full steam I'll really be in trouble! This year, all three want to dance in the Nutcracker too, so we'll be adding rehearsals on top of 4 days of ballet. It's always worth it in the end, especially seeing them in the holiday production, but before it all gets going it's hard to imagine how it will all possibly fit together.

Hope the pool party went well!

Year-round school? How does that work and where do I sign up?

With all the talk about the Disney Visa, it reminded me of something interesting. On the front of the card, there's a section that says "member since", and would normally have a date there. On mine, it says "Day One". I always loved that....

Nice! Mine says "Charter Cardmember"

Love the card - specially since it's finally a Visa Signature. Before, it had some signature benefits, but not all. Extended warranty is good, and the discounts on Fandango as well. If only they had the virtual numbers Citi has...

By the way, for those who know what I'm talking about....and especially Sylkie...I'm in chat. :cool1:

This is great news. We have been planing our trip based on similar info from the last few years and now we will save some money.. Great Planning....

Where did you get this info from?

I'll be leaving work very shortly so hopefully will be in chat in an hour or so. I just hope you all are still on when I get there.

Here's some info on the Room Discounts.

They will run until December 23rd, with the only blackouts being Thanksgiving week.

Dave is doing a write-up, and I will post a link to an article in the morning (once it's posted), that should fill in some more gaps for everyone.
