What do we do if we call in at 7am on the 29th and the CM doesn't know about the Disney Visa offer yet......and it hasn't been posted on Visa's or Disney's website, so there is no official proof of the offer? Sorry....too much time on my hands plus stress overload from all this waiting!

This board and other sites such as MouseSavers will have the info and the Visa package codes way ahead of the official Visa site (and there won't be anything on the Disney World site for the early Visa access). If the CM you get doesn't know about it, you can tell them what code to use.

Historically the Visa site has never had the offer posted or the members emailed with any speed matching the rest of the Disney fan world.

I'm pretty certain it's the expiration date on the card itself that is important. Any redeemed reward dollars on the card need to be used before the expiration date on the card, or those reward dollars are forfeited. So yes, I think you can use what's on your card in November. I've never heard of the dollars themselves also having an expiration independent of the physical card they are "on."

jcarwash is correct. The expiration date is the date on the card itself. I have a DV and have used reward cards at DW and at the store. I have used the cards close to the expiration date listed on it and never had a problem with that.

I know about prepping. Have a bunch of clients reservations I need to change to FD. I love being able to send them an email let them know I saved them xxx dollars and they have no ideal that FD was out. That is one reason I love my job.

It is my understanding as this:
The expiration date you see on the statement, is the expiration date you have to move it to a rewards card. So if you have it on the card, then I would think you have until the expiration of the card. Which is what someone said.

I'm totally new to using my rewards $$. I got my Disney Visa in 2010 when I went to DW and been saving points. Now waiting for the FD.
I'm nervous that I'm not going to be at my computer from the 25th to the 28th and won't know to call and get it added. But since it's being said the 29th, I should be good and will be checking when I return the 28th.
Can't wait! Can't wait! I'm checking in on November 16th. POFQ Love that place!!!

Any rewards dollars transferred to your rewards card will expire on the card expiration date. You can transfer rewards dollars to your existing rewards card as soon as they are available in your account (subject to a minimum transfer amount - $10.00 I think). Rewards dollars in your account (i.e. any that have not been transferred to a rewards card) expire 5 years after earning them. All rewards dollars earned each billing month will post to your account & be available on your statement date.

The GP FD offer comes out on 8/1...I would assume that you would be considered GP.

Correcting myself with the definitive answer from the Chase FAQ. Reward dollars that aren't transferred to a card will expire after five years. Spend, people, spend.

Q: Do my Disney Dream Reward Dollars expire?
A: The Disney Dream Reward Dollars transferred onto a Disney Rewards Redemption Card will expire on the expiration date
printed on the Disney Rewards Redemption Card, generally the end of the calendar year following the date of issuance. Disney Dream Reward Dollars in your Disney Rewards account will expire 5 years from the date they are earned (and posted to your account).

Question: With everyone so excited about calling to get FD, what are the odds even if I'm a Disney Visa person, I will call the first day and not be able to get FD added to my Reservation? I'm in the right date range and not at an excluded resort.
Basically asking do specific resorts have a limited number of people that can have it? Or anyone staying during those times can get it?

There are a limited number of rooms per category per resort available for free dining. Some resorts/room types will sell out faster than others. It's a good idea to have a backup resort/room category selected in case the one you want is not available for FD. sigh! Well we were very specific as to where and when when we decided we were going back in January and made this reservation. Thanks for that tip. I'll have to see if my husband would be willing to switch resorts. Something to ponder. Hoping for the best!

I've learned a lot from this board since Feb. I'm not a newb to Disney, but to the boards! This is my first trip going as an adult with my own family (I always went as a kid-teen with my parents) and had it not been for Dis I def would have never known there was FD or even RO discounts! Yay Dis!

I checked last week and there were rooms available at PORFQ, today NONE! No room availability at any of the mods!

Please, please say this is in preparation for next week!!

Yay! Just went back again and checked....mod rooms are now available again! They must have been doing some sort of update...I know that has happened before.

Since this is our 1st time to stay on property, I didn't know about holding out for certain packages or that discounts come up from time to time. We thought the opposite- that prices could go up or rooms could fill up so I just booked what worked for us at the time (also b/c of airfare). When the CM told me that they could adjust everything if a discount came along, I was relieved (I'm typically a bargain shopper)!

I have been eagerly awaiting news on FD b/c I thought that was going to be the deal of the century. Now that I've read more and more, I wonder if a RO would be better. That said, after reading further, I wonder if it won't b/c we are booked at a Value (Pop) and it seems the better discounts are for mods/deluxe.

Just to recap, here are our stats:

Dates: 11/11-11/19
Where: Pop (MYWP)
Who: Me, DH, DS4
Character meals? One. Maybe two (if we figure out he reallly wants to see Oso- this is a surprise so it's hard to gauge). We have several booked with the idea that we can cancel before we head out there. (Chef Mickeys, Cape May, Hollywood and Vine (all breakfast) and Crystal Palace (lunch).
Tickets: 5 day PH
Extras: Planning on MVMCP 11/11.

Whatever $ we save will go towards transportation towards going to Give Kids the World for a day. Still working on that one.

Well, we're also staying at Pop. It basically comes down to which you think is a better deal. There are just 2 of us, DH and me. A Room Only discount on a value is typically low. 10-15% off rack rate of a value. For us, FD is a better deal as RO would only save us a couple hundred but food would cost us around $500. So FD is a better discount for us. You might want to do the math to see which is better for your family. Also, depending on how many TS meals you are planing, at a certain amount it would be cheaper to upgrade QSDP to DDP than pay OOP. Hope that helps

Just for comparison sakes, we are staying at AoA and a room only would have saved us $273 dollars. Even with upgrading to the basic dining plan which was $450, we still are saving $1000 with free dining.

Which is cheaper? Staying at POP with the free quick service and paying the difference to upgrade to FD or staying at a mod (PORFQ or CS) and get FD? We currently have a LM room at AoA and are trying to decide what to do on August 1st when the FD dates are released.

It depends on your party. If you have 2 adults and 2 kids, it's cheaper to stay value and pay difference. Once your kids are Disney adults, the difference is much smaller or the moderate can be cheaper.
