Rooms are always few and far between at this resort, so yes that is always possible. Due to the small size and popularity, even room discounts here are usually only 5%. Not much need to discount French quarter with all it has going for it.

POFQ being as small as it is it is very possible. Disney does not need to offer FD or RO dscounts to fill rooms due to the resorts popularity and size

For Free Dining? In what room pool were you looking. I just looked at your dates... (a made up family of 4) and saw standard, garden view, water view, and Royal guest room. I looked at package and room-only. I also looked an Annual Passholder rate and it was the same as rack rate...so no discount at POR for that one.

I want to add that I agree...if you have a teen or pre-teen or early 20's male in your family.... free dining is especially a good deal..and so are buffets (paid or not). For my currently family configuration of 2 adults and 11 year old little girl that eats like a 6 year old, not so much. You also have to be care with those in between ages on the dining plan. 10 year olds are expected to eat adult meals. That doesn't work for us at all. My nephew, when he was 10, we were on the paid dinning plan, and he didn't want to eat anything on the adult menu. We ended up using adult dining credits for kids meals in some places that they'd let us. It was a waste of money for us.

and in the big ticket meal category, we had Thanksgiving dinner 2012 at Whispering Canyon Cafe with 11 adults and 1 child. We had a specially ordered birthday cake from private dining and drinks. Our bill was over $700!!! And of course we couldn't use our Tables in Wonderland on Thanksgiving day...so no discounts for us!

Everyone is eagerly awaiting the 29th. Not sure if some can handle waiting another long week though.

I'm still waiting for specifics on the room discount. As before, if I get some solid info I'll probably start another thread just to keep them separate.

Would love to have a heads up on whether or not I should bother getting on the phone at 4am to try to snag RO discount. I typically don't mind the early hour call, but it would be rough to have it be for nothing.

Thanks so much for all the info you give. So do you know anything about RO? Is there going to be some sort of RO released at the same time? My dates are 10/14-10/19 so we're blocked out of FD. Thats fine with me a RO saves us more as a small family. I don't even truly mind no discount but I'll need to switch to a mod instead of deluxe and my 45 day mark is 8/30 so I'm starting to sweat a little.

Yes there will be a RO, but no details yet in terms of dates of availability. Good chance it will release right alongside free dining as this has been the case in prior releases. I'll provide more info if I receive it.

One at POR and one in the little mermade room at AOA. In know those rooms at AOA do not receive free dining so how would that work. She thought she would receive it for her entire vacation but im thinking it would only cover for the time she is at POR.

Make sure she knows she should get the full length of tickets needed for her whole trip with the first stay, and also she must stay at least 3 nights at POR.

She already has 8 day ph. And her first stay is 11/2-11/11. So I knew she was good for that timeframe.

She will only get it for her time at POR.
