Free Dining Oct-Dec Is Here!!

Whew! I was at an educational conference on July 15-18 when this thing broke-- I have only just now finished reading all 111 pages. I was so relieved when that person finally got FD with her father's pin. Also, this was a question from page 65 that I didn't see an answer for; does anyone know?

You read all 111 pages? That is impressive!!! And, welcome back!!! I was wondering where you had been!;)

Thanks Dave for this information. To verify, I have 4 adults so our savings with free dining would be $261.15 therefore if we stayed at the Poly the room only discount would have to be 261.15/526.20x100=45%, correct?

I have been reading your site since last December when we started planning our trip and love all the information ... thanks for doing an awesome job keeping everyone informed. You and Joe are the best

Wow! You're good at this!!!:cool1:

Dave is good at the math, that's for sure.

Just to add, if you're totally and completely confused and your dates allow you to do either free dining or a room discount, you can always price both out when you call to book your trip. The cast members are more than willing to do this and work with you to get the best deal you can.

OH my GOSHHHHH is Monday ever gonna get here?!?! Ive emailed my TA with my first choice (POFQ standard...long shot I know) with 2 back up plans!! I will be so glad when its officially booked.... then I can relax!

During the September fd promotion I got this room several days after the promotion was announced. Hoping to get it again this time since we had to change dates. :goodvibes

First, thanks!!! Second-- 4 adults is $234.64, not $261.15? Finally, the Poly rate is only for 5 nights, standard view, fall season, two weekends nights. Sadly you have to model your exact dates and view... the nums are here, but you have to add 12.5% tax (13% at the All-Stars) http://www.mousesavers.com/2013-walt-disney-world-resort-room-rates-season-dates/

Most normal people should follow Joe's advice rather than doing my math!!!

My wife and I will be visiting the first week of Nov with my Sister & her family. Based upon the info we have at this point, we will check-in during FD and also have the option for RO.

My sister's family is 2 adults & 2 eight year olds. FD gives them the best discount under almost any circumstance, hands down.

It's just my wife and I, and based on past experience we know that our eating patterns in WDW don't match up with FD - we consistently spend a good deal less OOP. So RO would make sense for us.

We have the Disney Visa - my sister doesn't. So I booked the rooms (two seperate reservations, but linked so we can hopefully get connecting rooms).

Provided the offers become available on 7/29, does anyone know if I'd be able to apply FD to theirs, and RO to ours? I'm not double dipping discounts b/c they are two seperate reservations. It seems like I should be able to do this, but I wanted to see if anyone has firsthand experience? :confused3

Thanks and good luck to all on Monday!

I haven't called my travel agent yet. The reason I haven't called is bc I don't know what to say. How do we know that this is actually going to happen? I have a Disney visa. How far in advance do they announce offers?

Sure, that's not a problem at all.

Why, oh why do I think I need to stay at one of the only Moderates that's not going to have the 30% RO discount? Ugh, now I can't decide if I want to switch. This. Is. Driving. Me. Crazy.

Thanks Dave. I went to WDW website and priced out the room for the days we are staying and divided the total cost by the number of nights ... cost is $615/night. So 234.64/615.15x100=38%. Free dining isn't being offered for our dates so the room discount would be nice.

I have never booked with a discount so not sure how this works. For a room only discount can I still purchase tickets and the dining plan and if so, how would I figure out what the total price would?

We are going out of town Sunday so I won't be able to call Disney until mid-August. How fast do the rooms book up when discounts are offered? Will I still have a chance?

Thanks again for all the help.

Good luck everyone on Monday & Thursday, here's pixie dust coming your way that everyone is able to get their trips booked with discounts pixiedust:

As some added insight.

As I mentioned earlier, some resorts can have varying discounts based on room type. As a rule of thumb, rooms with a better view are the ones with lower discounts.

For Example, Animal Kingdom Lodge Savannah view rooms would be discounted less than the standard and pool view rooms. Same goes at Contemporary resort as well. At resorts such as these, your discount will depend on your room selection.

Will you have web access? Because you can book it over the web once it opens. You just have to start in the right spot. There'll be a link to it here: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/special-offers/

You can add tix and dining--they'll cost you the same as they would if you had no discount. You can do a practice reservation now to see what it all adds up to, pre-room-rate deal.

The rooms allocated to these deals go fast, particularly at the moderates and the popular deluxes--the Poly being one of those. I'd do whatever you can to get to Disney the morning the deal opens...

So it will probably be 30% off at Port Orleans Riverside (depending on room category) and 5% off at Port Orleans FQ? Dang it! I was really looking forward to the French Quarter. We will have to do a split stay RO 10/16 for 2 nights and then FD for 4 nights. Though it is only $120 difference. But we need 2 rooms. Decisions, decisions. :confused3

I am staying from November 10- November 15. InAll star Movies resort, does any one know what the RO discount is? I know free dining is just not an option.:confused3

You'd likely do better to stay the night of the 10th as a room only and then do free dining from 11-15. Split stays aren't usually a big issue for most.
