Free Dining Oct-Dec Is Here!!

I have not officially booked with Disney yet for my planned dates of 10/24-10/30. I was going to wait until the deals were released to the public.

Do you guys think I should book now and then add my deal? Sorry, I'm new and this is my first trip that I'm planning.

Also, I was going to stay at a value resort, I don't have a preference really, but is there a specific room I should attempt to book that will give me a better chance at a deal?

I'm not sure if I'm going to take advantage of FD or room discount, basically I'm just waiting to see what's available, but now I'm nervous I will miss out. :/

I think the waiting to book part of your question has been answered already, and yes, wait, your instincts are correct.:thumbsup2

As far as availability at a Value, the odds are very good!!! It sounds like you are not too picky and that means you could call days, weeks later and most likely get a room. All-Star Movies tend to be popular and may be the first to go. Pop is also really popular, but they also have the most rooms of any resort. Just a note, All-Star Sports is getting a new food court and will be closed to just before Christmas, I believe??? They are having bus service to All-Star Music/Movies to eat at their food courts. They will still have some nonperishable and cold food items available in the game room (thus no game room either). Good luck!!!:yay:

Just to be clear: Sports food court will be closed, not the resort : ) Food court closed 7/31 to 12/26/13!!!

Sorry if this has been asked already. Is there a chance that a RO discount will come out early for Disney Visa holders? Was that the case for the last round of discounts? I just want to be prepared. Thanks!

Yes, on the last go-a-round, RO was released the same time as the Disney Visa free dining!:cool1:

Those are the exact same dates as our trip and I have FD booked with a pin code. With the pin code there are no rooms available at POR at all (i mean none left when i booked). We have to stay at CSR instead. Hopefully when they release FD to the general public they'll open up a few more rooms at POR.

I hope they come up with more rooms for POR too. Although our trip dates don't coincide with the rumored new FD dates mentioned for the general public so was hoping for a PIN code. Since they are sending out PIN codes for 2014 I gather they won't be sending any more for 2013?

No FD for our trip

I have a question (probably a duh one). We are currently booked during the dreaded 1st week of december because we are a family of 5 of when I called to get a quote for POR, one catergory was already sold out so I pulled the trigger and booked  Well now we are back at the drawing board (but soooo not booking again until something is released). We are thinking of just paying the extra and getting a Cars suite. I didn't see suites listed as an exclusion in the first post but I wanted to see if anyone knew if suites were included? We would have to pay the upgrade to regular dining but this way we are fighting with every other family of 5 (thank you ds for turning three  ) for a room at POR.

My room is already booked at AoA in a Nemo suite (we have 4 adults and 1child) for check in October 30th, what are my chances if I call early on July 29th that I will get FD. Should I be prepared to switch us to another hotel, our choices are limited? Would two adjoining rooms be an option at another resort? Now I'm starting to worry.

Yes, the AoA suites are included. Just not the LM rooms. : )

You will most certainly get FD at AoA, but the Nemo rooms tend to have limited availability under the offer, so have a backup suite theme in mind when you call just in case! :goodvibes

We didn't get a pin :( just hoping to snag the fall FD offer coming out on the 29th. Most of the POR RGR's are still available for our dates and we're currently booked into a RGR standard. I guess my question now is.....have the RGR standard views usually been included n the past FD offers or has it only been the RGR pool/garden view rooms that have been elig?

Just trying to get all my mice in a row b4 the 29th : ) we'll upgrade to a pool/garden view on the 29th if need be but I'll be sad if POR is left out of the FD loop all together and we have to end up switching resorts in order to get FD. Thanks again for any replies.

Thank you, any suggestions on which to choose, DD is 3?

How many of you booked the first week of December expecting free dining ( like I did ) and are now:

A: Planning on changing to a free dining date when officially released.

B: Have already changed to a rumored date.

C: Just keep the first week in December and dine out of pocket.

D: Just keep the first week of December with dining and hope for a RO deal.

E: Cancel the trip altogether.

F: Other

I didn't mean for this to be so long but the options just kept coming to mind.

I am leaning toward D

Don't forget, AOA is still considered a value and thus only gets the quick service for free dining. You can still upgrade for $19 per adult per night, $3-4 for children.

My husband actually wants to upgrade to the deluxe, which imo is a waste of time and money on a 5 day trip. This is his second trip, I have been so many times I lost count. But our oldest's boyfriend is 24 and a bottomless pit so idk. It is his and my DD-21's first trip. I feel the mid grade with one or two ts meals out of pocket is best.

We are one of the first week in Dec- and we are considering both date change or keep and pay oop. I think they'll have some kind of RO, also if no FD, we have TIW, and we don't do the DDP because we've run the #'s and it's always better oop with TIW by far if no FD.

I am more interested at this point in what the crowds will be like. I think pretty busy each of the weeks in Dec.
