Good point. Maybe I'll invest in the waterproof camera that mounts on a helmet, LOL. But then I wouldn't be able to wear my Mad Hatter hat so forget that.

I bought a waterproof camera at Costco and it is amazing and my daughter of 3 love it. I will have the photo pass + and the waterproof camera for our trip. Enjoy your vacations!

If that's true and you book for 5 day's with FD, aren't you allowed to add more days to your trip later and have those included with FD?

While Photopass is awesome, I would still take your camera. Not all characters will have a Photopass photographer. Also, there are no photographers inside the actual restaurant, so you will need your camera there, too. We average 300 Photopass pics per trip (by the time I edit them, I end up with over 1000), but I still end up with hundreds (if not a thousand) personal pics. You never know when you will run into a bit of magic. Photopass can't capture it all.

Also occassionally Photopass pics go missing. We lost ours from the Monsters Inc party in May as they weren't on our card when we got home and Disney couldn't find them so best to get one on your camera just incase

I was super tempted to book online at 4:30am Thursday when I saw it. But i thought about it and my TA had to do work to get me our original reservations, make our payments, add DME info, etc. i thought about how I would feel if I worked hard and never got paid for it . Again when she was on hold forever, I thought should I just do it online? But I didn't give up on her and she came through.

I am so sorry for those who have had bad experiences with their TAs. It is very scary to allow even a good TA in control of your reservation, i suggest than anyone who wants to get a TA think hard first. If you are not willing to give them complete control, just book yourself. A lot of this mess is due to the system and not the TAs But some certainly do have legitimate complaints against their TAs.

I booked mine myself, but did call my TA (who was on hold with Disney at the time) immediately to tell her so we could transfer the reservation and she would get credit. Once she finally got through at which time there was NO availability it was simple enough to make that switch. Thank goodness I booked myself. I actually considered my TA and I kind of a team and it worked well for us.

So if you need to call, now is a good time. No hold time at all for me! I called Thursday with hopes of doing a split stay at POR for 11/9-11/16, getting a RO for Saturday and Sunday and free dining for the last 5 nights. Based on past promotions and historical data we should have been good but we all know THAT didn't work out. So I stuck with my original package because taking the little 5% off would have made my package more because of the ticket increase.
Well I looked at some other options and switched to AoA, lion king. We got a discount for 11/10-16 and made the overall cost compared to the original POR RR $300 more. 3/4 of us wanted AoA to begin with and I actually originally booked that in January then switched thinking POR would have been cheaper and I really liked the RR and the amenities of POR. But now we have a separate bedroom and 2 bathrooms which will be nice. We'll save POR for another time.

I had that happen last year. The camcorder is 80 gigs so no issues with running out of space, but the battery was dead in 4 hours, so this year I have 3 backup batteries just to make sure. I just hate lugging the bag around but oh well. I just do what the wife say's and smile.

Oh and if your using an android powered phone or an iphone get a battery saving app, they help alot by turning things off when the phone is asleep. I use Easy Battery Saver on my android.

What dates did you actually end up with at POR? I just managed to snag Nov 17-21. Now I just need to add two nights on the beginning and 1 or 2 nights on the end.
Thanks to the person that suggested trying 5 nights. That worked after 3 days of beating my head against the wall..

I hate to keep asking about the photopass+ and the site smitch provided was awesome at answering most of my questions but I just have 1 that I can't seem to figure out. When I go to, say, Chef Mickeys and hand them my photopass+ card, will those photos just be on my photo pass or do I receive the hardcopy package for free as well? From what I think I understand, you get the hardcopy from the Character meals free and the photos get loaded onto your account, but with rides you just get the photos added to your account. Am I even close?

Lol , your exactly correct. Character experience we got hard copies . All the ride pics and park pics go on your account.
The rides were worth the price of PP IMo.
500 pics! Truly only about 200 original ones. And maybe 100 keepers

To get people out of the shots I just wait til they clear. I go during slower times of the year.
