Well pretty soon I'll start a part 3 of this thread. But when I do, just subscribe to it and keep posting here. I think it would be fun to actually shut this one down. I mean completely close it out from too many posts.

Sounds good! Let's close this one down with a BANG!!!

When I cancel my original package do I have to have that money applied to my new ressie or can I just have it refunded?

You can have it refunded.

Good morning everyone! I see more people are having success today! Fantastic!

So now we are thinking of adding a day to the end of our trip! When I check, it is still available with free dining. Am I better to have that day added now while it's available? Can I drop the day without fear of losing free dining for the entire trip? I realize there are fees within 45 days but we will have decided for sure by then.

Add it now! :goodvibes Dropping it later will not cause you to lose your dining. :thumbsup2 Extra days are awesome. :woohoo:

You know I consider myself pretty savvy when it comes to tickets and stuff for trip planning..... but this whole frenzy the past week over getting FD has me brain-dead! :crazy2: We have AP this year so I went ahead and booked our FD res with a 2day ticket to use on a future trip.

Looks like I paid 195.96 per person for that. Last night (in the middle of the night) I woke up and thought  why not get a longer ticket? HELLO? Of course, that's the smart thing to do because the longer tickets cost less per day, but now I have to call and wait on hold again to modify our res. I think I'll wait a few days before I try to call in.

Anything else I should remember, oh wise ones!

You can always add days to your ticket when you get to disney. That way you don't have to wait on hold again. :yay:

I would think you could also keep it a two day ticket until you take the trip you're a actually going to use them on and then add days to them. Just in case you end up taking a shorter trip. No need to add too many days.

Yes, we do have to pay rack rate for rooms to get free dining. Some of the confusion might have been that some folks upgraded room category or resort category to get the free dining. In some cases this made their total slightly more (or less) than their original ressie, but they got an upgrade. :goodvibes

If I understood the OP question correctly, they thought it appeared room rates went up and not down because of what some were posting. I wanted to clarify that we were paying rack rates and it may have appeared some were paying more because they were posting prices with upgrades. I know you all got great deals : )

I must be brain dead this morning, cuz I looked and haven't been able to find this thread. I've been stalking the WDW site every day, a few times a day checking for a Chef Mickey breakfast res w/no luck. I would really appreciate any help or direction.
TIA

watch the "cancelled" thread on the restaunt forum, maybe someone will cancel and you arrange a time to grab it. At 45 days people cancel trips so thats a good time to maybe get one. And just keep trying several times every day.

I guess you missed my earlier posts, its been so busy here. : ) I did book that last night, but decided to call in this afternoon to see if I could add on the first days and the CM said He found some Disney Magic for me and was seeing rooms available for my whole week! I still plan on staying at AoA the last night, my TA had that on hold for me already. Yay!

I did!! So happy for you!:cool1:

I've never gotten a package before, just realized I'M GONNA GET MICKEY MAIL!:cool1:

I think the past couple weeks have burned my brain with a permanent Mickey Head tattoo.

I know realistically that this is my 5th trip to WDW (well I actually count it as 7 because two of my trips were splits with solo trips attached), but somehow I'm feeling like FD changes stuff somehow. The dynamics are different and there is all this stuff (New Resort, Mickey Mail, MDE, DME, not having a rental full time, Disney Quest, Mini Golf, etc). I'm factoring in a bunch of new stuff, don't know if I'm excited or overwhelmed. :lmao: I love trip planning and I love Disney and I'm loving every minute of the madness.

I leave for a big vacation with my father in a month and I should be planning for that but honestly my brain is in Disney mode.

I have never gotten one either!!! So excited!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1:

I hate to keep asking about the photopass+ and the site smitch provided was awesome at answering most of my questions but I just have 1 that I can't seem to figure out. When I go to, say, Chef Mickeys and hand them my photopass+ card, will those photos just be on my photo pass or do I receive the hardcopy package for free as well? From what I think I understand, you get the hardcopy from the Character meals free and the photos get loaded onto your account, but with rides you just get the photos added to your account. Am I even close?

That's how it worked for us! We got the photo prints from the character meals and the digital copies for rides! Loved photo pass plus!

Awesome, thanks! I didn't want to say "No thank's" when they came to hand me the hard copies and have them look at me like I was crazy. LOL :rotfl2:

I know it's a little pricey but why wouldn't everyone get photopass+? $149 is well worth me not having to lug a camera around the park and try to remember to take photo's of everything and make sure I have enough batteries and memory card's and worry about leaving the camera on a table at a restaurant or having in my pocket when I get soaked on Splash Mountain, etc...

It was awesome having it. The only bad thing is my five year old got very tired of me wanting to stop at practically every photographer we saw! Sometimes I made them stop at one fifty feet away from one we had just been at! Getting all the photos, especially the ride and character meal photos, was so worth it!

While Photopass is awesome, I would still take your camera. Not all characters will have a Photopass photographer. Also, there are no photographers inside the actual restaurant, so you will need your camera there, too. We average 300 Photopass pics per trip (by the time I edit them, I end up with over 1000), but I still end up with hundreds (if not a thousand) personal pics. You never know when you will run into a bit of magic. Photopass can't capture it all. :goodvibes

For those of you that are looking for POR you may find rooms for 5 if your stay is no longer than 5 days. I talked to CM and he says that each hotel have their own availability days and not necessary the 14 days length as the offer says and for POR for 5 it is 5 days. I don't know if true but I was trying for 9,8,7,6 and only allow me to do it for 5, so make sense what he says. Good luck!

That's what we did...I already ordered ours for our October trip. I'm looking forward to all the PP+pictures. We'll use our phones for other pictures. I'm sooooo excited :)

Good point. Maybe I'll invest in the waterproof camera that mounts on a helmet, LOL. But then I wouldn't be able to wear my Mad Hatter hat so forget that.

I'm also buying memory cards for our video camera to record everything. Last time we went I ran out of memory in 2 hrs....not cool.

If that's true and you book for 5 day's with FD, aren't you allowed to add more days to your trip later and have those included with FD?
