Ok the luggage tags are kinda cute, but look a little flimsy. The last tags got, I remember they were so cheap that they broke when I tried to put them on.
 
Wow -- I've been on hold longer this morning trying to cancel than I was On Thursday to book! I was lucky Thursday and called right when they opened and got through in about 10 minutes. I'm at 23 min now!
 
I've never gotten a package before, just realized I'M GONNA GET MICKEY MAIL!:cool1:

I think the past couple weeks have burned my brain with a permanent Mickey Head tattoo.

I know realistically that this is my 5th trip to WDW (well I actually count it as 7 because two of my trips were splits with solo trips attached), but somehow I'm feeling like FD changes stuff somehow. The dynamics are different and there is all this stuff (New Resort, Mickey Mail, MDE, DME, not having a rental full time, Disney Quest, Mini Golf, etc). I'm factoring in a bunch of new stuff, don't know if I'm excited or overwhelmed. :lmao: I love trip planning and I love Disney and I'm loving every minute of the madness.

I leave for a big vacation with my father in a month and I should be planning for that but honestly my brain is in Disney mode.

I know that feeling! We go on our 3rd Disney cruise in Fall 2014; and between now and then we have a trip to DC, RCCL cruise, , WDW F&W Festival, Family reunion week at WDW, and a reunion (place TBD) with my husband's college friends AND I've been busy working away on my Disney Cruise stuff- fish extender, FE gifts, door decorations instead of throwing myself into the other trips like I usually do. Have fun planning and enjoy the trip!

Well pretty soon I'll start a part 3 of this thread. But when I do, just subscribe to it and keep posting here. I think it would be fun to actually shut this one down. I mean completely close it out from too many posts.

Before FD we talked about everything in the FD thread. Ill keep subscribing :)
 
Personally I think we should start a cancelled resort thread much like the cancelled ADR thread to give our DIS friends a heads up....

I must be brain dead this morning, cuz I looked and haven't been able to find this thread. I've been stalking the WDW site every day, a few times a day checking for a Chef Mickey breakfast res w/no luck. I would really appreciate any help or direction.

I didn't, and I had to cancel two extra.

I booked POR FD bright and early Thur morn and then called back mid day to cancel my RR POFQ that I made months ago, my CM couldn't have been sweeter. She was very happy that I managed a FD reservation and canceled my other one with never a mean word or reprimand. IN fact she went back and added a request to my new one no problem.

I will say I feel a little bad, knock on wood and hopeful not to jinx myself but I booked super easy at my first choice, I canceled super easy, everything showed up immediately in MDE, I've had literally no snags and I feel so bad for those that have had problems or less than magical CM's or that are having trouble finding dates. I am really really sending pixie dust that everyone finds what they need.

Yes, we do have to pay rack rate for rooms to get free dining.

My rack rate RO and tickets were actually about $150 less than my current package, with OOP food I would have been probably about the same amount over my current package, so even though I upgraded rooms and paid rack rate for them the savings will even things out in the wash.
 
I'd love to know this too. My invoice and emailed confirmation say MYW w free dining but MDE just says my dates, Pop Century Standard, and my price due. Nothing about dining. Neither computer or app. Nothing about a dining plan. It does have my two ADRs linked. But I'm paying oop for those as I'm QSDP. And it does show the new price as the charged me "taxes"

Ok, just called to follow up on my reservation to make sure everything is ok in their system. On hold for only 15 minutes, so that was good. Everything was right with them, had standard room, our free QSDP, tickets w PH, and our room requests. So, no idea why MDE doesn't show the free dining. Not going to worry about it I guess since it is right in their system and on my confirmation & invoice.
 
Was thinking with all the cancellations from AoA due to no free dining, I am holding out hope that they release some more FD nemo rooms for the past pins I received. One can hope right!!!:rotfl2:
 
You know I consider myself pretty savvy when it comes to tickets and stuff for trip planning..... but this whole frenzy the past week over getting FD has me brain-dead! :crazy2: We have AP this year so I went ahead and booked our FD res with a 2day ticket to use on a future trip.

Looks like I paid 195.96 per person for that. Last night (in the middle of the night) I woke up and thought :idea: why not get a longer ticket? HELLO? Of course, that's the smart thing to do because the longer tickets cost less per day, but now I have to call and wait on hold again to modify our res. I think I'll wait a few days before I try to call in.

Anything else I should remember, oh wise ones!

I have been told that you can make room request at the time of booking but that is really all it is a request. They told me to call back a few days before you arrive and tell them your request again because they really don't even start considering your request until it gets closer to your arrival and you are more likely to get what you want if you bring it to their attention closer to your arrival date.

Room Only Pop Century Dec. 1 - 5 for 4 Disney Adults with 3 day tix no dining plan $1624.76

Free Dining Pop Century Dec. 13 - 17 for 4 Disney Adults with 3 day tix PLUS quick service dining $1931.72


The deal is obviously better for the free dining, but I believe the crowds will be much worse?? It overlaps a little with Pop Warner plus its closer to Christmas. I'm not sure that it is worth it???

A little background is it will be me, DH, DD21, DD18. We are basically interested in seeing the Christmas stuff so how many rides we do, etc. is not quite as important. However, we have NEVER done the dining plan because we don't really eat that way. We are the type of family that might get 2 entrees and an appetizer and share. The girls don't drink soda and usually only get water at places. But even if we don't take full advantage of the dining plan, we would nevertheless eat more than $300 worth of food that is the difference in price between room only and free dining.

I'm leaning toward the free dining (although I have the room only reservation at the moment). But the crowds are holding me back.

Opinions??

Your confirmation should state MYW package and dining. Mine did right away, but many people are stating that their packages are not displaying correctly on the website. I would watch for an email confirmation verifying what you have or contact Disney directly with the new confirmation number to verify.
 
Yes, we do have to pay rack rate for rooms to get free dining. Some of the confusion might have been that some folks upgraded room category or resort category to get the free dining. In some cases this made their total slightly more (or less) than their original ressie, but they got an upgrade. :goodvibes

I got an upgraded room and it was only $150 more, so I still saved $750 with free dining. Honestly though I am so happy with the room we got that I'm thrilled to pay for it! POR RGR :wizard:
 
I have a PAP; We are booked at CBR. We got $205. off our reservation this week when the pass holder rates were published , and I called of course. From the other posts, it appears with FD, your room rate does not go down with FD, but goes up? I'm confused. Does WDW really give you FD or are you paying more for the room with dining added? Is FD available with PAP discount rates? Do I need to call again? For us, if we have to pay for the DPs, they are not worth it. We don't eat enough to make us purchase it and many times we see people rushing around at the end trying to use all their credits up. If Disney wouldn't require you to have day of arrival and day if departure included, it might be but we may arrive in the evening on an evening flight after work and many times we'll be on a 7 am flight home and head straight in to work.
Anyway, if you could shed light on the above, please do. It's one thing (FD or DP) we have never gotten . Is it worth it for F&W Festival? We are also booked in April with kids, grand kids but are staying at FW Cabins and not sure it's worth it for there either. Thanks.

I priced my vacation without FD and it came out exactly the same as with FD. No additional tax for FD and no price hike in the room rate. I did have to pay more then my original booking since that one was made long before the prices went up a few months ago but it is still worth it. I would have originally paid over $2900 for a standard room with dining and I now have a Garden View with dining for a little over $2400
 
When I cancel my original package do I have to have that money applied to my new ressie or can I just have it refunded?
