I could just cry ~ I mean really (a good cry). I had my heart set on fd at POFQ. I mean I have researched this resort for over a year and felt like it would be perfect for our first onsite stay. When word came that it was excluded from fd I was disappointed but decided we would probably like POR, I knew my princess loving dd would love a RGR. Well, after the disaster that was yesterday, we ended up at CSR and I was so bummed. I mean I know it's still Disney but honestly, I was crushed. I researched it all yesterday and dh and I looked at youtube videos last night and while I know it is some people's favorite, I was not happy about being there. Well, I have been stalking the reservations site since yesterday morning with no luck. Then out of the blue I refresh the screen and poof, there it is ~ a Garden View Royal Guest Room. I just about fell out of my chair. I blinked my eyes several times and checked the dates again and sure enough, it was for our dates. So, needless to say, I snatched it up and we are at POR in a RGR and I am all smiles. Keep checking if you are not where you want to be ~ something may pop up for you too

Good advise! but remember - For a fee you can have them decorate tour room (prior to arrival) with balloons, flowers, tiaras etc....forget the exact name but I think it's run thru disney florists.

I've been trying to cancel my double reservation at POR 10/1-10/10. I would love to be able to "give" it to someone who needs it but still can't get through to cancel!

SO GUYS SHE EMAILED ME AND TOLD ME SHE DID A "DUMMY" RESERVATION ON THE TA SITE FOR NOVEMBER 11-15 WITH FREE DINING UPGRADED TO DISNEY DINING PLAN. SHE SAID SHE WILL HAVE TO DO THE RO ON THE 10TH FOR ME. IM NOT SURE IF SHE CAN SWITCH OVER TE MONEY I HAD ON MY OTHER RESERVATION TO THIS ONE. HOPEFULLY SHE CAN. I AM STAYING AT ALL STAR MUSIC. I will have to try that next time. I wish you recorded the conversation so I would know how to approach that situation. And I think you probably aren't in the minority because of how you feel, but because you got the vacation you wanted, as did I. The people who are mad, and understandably so, are the ones still trying to get free-dining for dates they want. But pointing fingers isn't going to help and if they want to point finger's they should be in Disney's direction, not other guest's.

BTW why did you say my name made you laugh?

I personally think the way some people went about things was wrong...and I did get my FD. I called, trying to get through for 20 minutes, and waited on hold for over an hour.

I look at it like this...on Black Friday people line up and get crazy. they push, shove, ruin stores, and even start fist fights...over what? A good deal? I agree to the point that me and my family ALWAYS come first...but I also think there is a right and wrong way to do things and I think some, not all, most, or even many...a few who chose the ladder.

Totally agree though Disney needs a better system! Not trying to put CM's out of work, but self mods is the best way I can see!

Thanks for the suggestion but I think my ds16 will have all of the princessness he can stand with just the room. But he's a good sport and agreed to stay for his sister's sake. I have to say my inner-princess is excited to be there too!

***just got through - took about 45 minutes but it is done! FYI while I waited I rechecked the WDW website and our dates/resort is still avail to book with FD - so I feel better that I didn't restrict anyone else from getting their booking!

I was told yest that you are not supposed to be able to book two different resorts for the same time period (even though I had done it)....
I understand both sides too...

Of course you can book two rooms for the same time period!!! Disney does not let you book 2 room in one ressie so if you need 2 for your family, you need to book 2 rooms.

We usually stay at All Stars, and music is our favorite of the 3. Whether you will like it or not, only you can ultimately decide. There are LOTS of kids at these resorts (we are adults only groups, usually) but we don't mind. We stay in standard room so we are AWAY from the pool and noise it generates. Depending on what room they give us, sometimes the closest bus stop is at the neighbor resort, a short walk across the parking lot. You can also have lots of groups (sports/cheer/tours) in these because of the lower cost. But all in all we still like it. (FYI- we have stayed in Contemporary/FW/FWL/CBR/POP and still like the Music) My suggestion, try it once, and if you don't enjoy it, you know what to avoid next time!
