Can someone give me some insight about MDE? I'm booked through a TA, and I was able to link the confirmation number she gave me. MDE shows my correct dates, room type, ticket type w/ number of days. However MDE does not show any dining whatsoever. It didn't show as paid dining when it was, and now it doesn't show as free dining either. I'm not worried about it, since my emailed confirmation from my TA shows free dining. But I'm wondering, is it the funky TA confirmation number (8 characters, both alpha/numeric) that is causing this glitch? Or do y'all who booked online have problems with free dining (or any dining for that matter) showing on MDE?

Anyone? Anything?

I changed my reservation on 8/1 to get FD. I gave the CM my flight info for Magical Express. Where do you see it on the website? I can't view the details anywhere.

-- According to Bob Iger, Disney is now targeting a "probable full rollout in the early part" of its 2014 fiscal year, which begins in October. It will be interesting to see if this holds, which I have my doubts...unless "early" means January.

I talked to CM Cynthia and she was shocked that it worked too. She didn't even have to make a new reservation - she just changed my existing package reservation from an Oct 26 checkout date to an Oct 30 checkout date and it gave me FD. Then she changed the checkout date back to Oct 26. Wah-Lah! Free Dining for our entire stay! She said she was going to have to try that with everyone that calls in.

I hope this isn't some weird glitch and Disney takes away my FD!

My reservation on My Disney Experience doesn't show FD and I forget to ask if I'd get an e-mail confirmation. Back to the phones!

ETA: Just talked to Timothy and he confirmed that I do have FD....said I'd get an email tomorrow but he went ahead and manually sent one today - I should have it in a couple of hours. WooHoo!

The CM said they couldn't take the money paid to THAT reservation and transfer it over to my new reservation and they would have to refund it. Well, I got a refund.... but the refund is for 700$ and the amount I paid towards my original reservation was 1600$. Anyone have any ideas???

We shut it down!!! What a run that thread had...but ironically it still didn't have the views that part one received. The part one thread got tons of views, people looking and reading but not always posting. That's not to say though that part two wasn't on fire.

Funny, the room discount thread has 67 pages and 993 posts, while this thread is already on part three due to the sheer size, with over 8,400 posts and hundreds of thousands of views.

Did anyone have a geek moment and look at my analysis of today's earnings call? I shared some views on future discounts.

Nope, same card. It was over a few months, but I never made a 700$ payment at once. THe CM (who was SOOOOOOOOOOOO nice!! The most "magical" one I have come across yet) had NO clue. She said that she can't see that and I have to call back tomorrow and talk to accounting (which she gave me their direct line which is nice!) and they close at 430. Now, there are still the tickets from my first package on MDE, do you think that might be it? I thought when I cancelled the first package it automatically cancelled the tickets too and the original CM (the one I cancelled with) said my refund would be 1600$ so I don't really think that is it. THe CM tonight was VERY disappointed that the first CM didn't just transfer the money over for me to my new reservation. Guess I will have to wait till tomorrow to figure this out!

I'd be very surprised if the full roll out was in September, but I am hoping to have them for our trip in November or be part of a test.

As to future offers, with the economy slowly getting better in America and Asia I can see them phasing out free dining. But, with the way they keep raising prices I wonder if that will dampen the economic effect somewhat.

But don't forget. There's a difference between September free dining and free dining the rest of the year. September got it due to kids in school and hurricane season. It had nothing to do with economic conditions, but was all about a slow time of year. Those conditions so far haven't changed.

Think about this, the week I'm going, crowd predictions on a range of 1-10 vary between 1 and 2. That's with free dining. What kind of levels would it be without free dining??? Does the level go to zero?
