Hi
Just returned from a 4 day b-day celebration in the world and here are my observations.

Mk on 8/21 - Smallest crowds I've seen in a LONG time...maybe ever! We didn't get ONE fast pass all day!!!! Rode Astro Orbiter 2 times w/o getting out at 9:45 AM.

CM at check-in commented on how grateful she was that we had booked dining in advance as a lot of people w/free dining are showing up without a clue as to where to eat and it is taking a long time to suggest and make ADRs with people who haven't done any research.

The lines at the concierge desk were consistantly long with people booking ADRs.

Upon entering the parks and by guest relations there is a sign that tells what restaraunts have availability for that day. When we left at 3PM to go back and change from MK, we noticed the sign read in effect "no sit down reservations left" so even the new noodle station buffet had been booked up for the night!!! They have a dining plan helpful hints section on one of the resort channels to help you understand the dinihng plan better.

The counter services were dead when we went to lunch both days about noon and for dinner one night about 5:30. No waiting in lines and no hunting for a place to sit.

It felt like the sit-down places were less busy because there were fewer people walking up for reservations and the CMs seemed more organized with the booked ADRs for the evening.

A lot more discussion heard in lines and on the busses about how much food you get, what places people loved, etc. Too much food, in our opinion. We actually cancelled one sit-down one evening because we knew we wouldn't be that hungry, and we weren't. Wish we would've used our snacks more in the beginning. Paid OOP for a couple of drinks and icer cream because we planned to use them on other days, but weren't hungry then. So we used it on candy and bottles of water.

I'm still mad that the All Stars don't have much more than pizza for food late at night. We got back at 11 one night and were starving after waiting in line for the busses after Wishes for 40 min. We missed having a fridge with the moderates when we stay there because we buy healthy snacks and have them in the afternoon and late night. Nothing was left in the cases to grab either.

Were really impressed with the dining plan overall. We probably wouldn't ever pay for it as it was too much food and we eat maybe 2-3 sit downs and the rest counter services, often sharing. But I can see how with a family it would be beneficial!

Thank you for all the useful information. I will not count on eating late at All Stars when we visit soon. We got a call today from WDW to make sure we had reservations for our meals next month, so I guess it really is a big problem. I promise I will use my snack credits ASAP! And I hope it is nice a quiet when we go.

Again, thank your for posting this.

Sounds like you had fun. We love the DP, looking foward to getting it for FREE this time;)
