We were originally thinking of an early November vacation backto the world with the Grandparents. Now I see the free dining pkg being offered (intended to move ppl to the Value season or Huricanne season ;) ) and that's a lot of money to save for a family of 4 plus grandparents. So I'm thinking of moving our plans to September 26 - Oct 3.

I know Sept is HOT :sunny: but has anyone been at the end of Sept or early October that can enlighten me on the weather conditions around that time? The pros are shorter lines, less crowds and we can even hit a MNSVSHP !!! Much better for our family and this would please my husband. The only cons as I see is the heat/humidity. My MIL can NOT take the heat. So are we really out of luck at this time of year. Please help me convince her it would be an okay time to go.

THANKS!

I'm not `100% sure but I believe the free dining thing sold out. I'm pretty sure I read it on here somewhere the other day

Well i was looking and it looks like and I may have read it wrong, someone may be able tot ell you for sure. It looks like resorts get a certain amount of these and a resort can sell out? I'm not sure, since it has to be in a package this sounds right...I think.

I', pretty sure I saw a post that said CSR sold out. So you may want to find out what your resort has...

As for weather we went Oct 8th last year and it wasn't nearly as bad as I expected..probably low to mid 80s

I have been in September and November, and the difference for someone who can't take the heat is very noticeable. It if like visiting the same city on two different planets. I have some heart/health problems and the heat/humidity just wears on me. I have also been in June, bad, January, great, May, fair....just before the humidity broke,..early December, wonderful.....

More....from no heat please.....only hope I can offer you is to get a ECV (?) for your MIL. That is what saved me during the bad months. It is about $35 a day and can be rented right at the parks, you just have to get there early as they go quickly. When we were at US/IA I rented one from a private company and it came with a sunshade. I like the EVC over the wheelchair as it gives me more freedom to move around on my own.

We went last year, third week of September. It was in the low 80's every day, lots of sun. I can say that we had no trouble finding shady spots to cool off in and I'm one who doesn't like it too hot. I can't recall ever being too hot or irritated about the heat. It seems you continuously are going from the hot sun into cooler places like shops, attractions, and restaurants. I would ask your mother-in-law how hot she can stand it and take it from there.
