Free Dining if staying at ASMU Family Suites?

This will be our first trip to Disney and, while we're not counting on free dining, we're definitely hoping for it However, I was just told by someone who goes to Disney often that the free dining offer can't be applied if you stay in the family suites - it's for standard rooms only. Can anyone tell me if that is true? Thanks so much!

FALSE or in the past it has been. We went last September during FD and had part of our party stay in one of the suites at All Star Music. Bounceback was also available at that time for the suites for FD this year (which we didn't book, kicking ourselves now).

We stayed in an AS Music family suite last August with Free Dining. My understanding is that they do book up quickly, though, so if Free Dining is released, be sure to call ASAP to book it.

It must be allowed, as pp said. A few months ago, I got a Pin Code for Free QSDP at value resorts and booked a family suite.

And my friend has been to Disney many, many times... but is only a family of 3. My family of 5 has challenged her knowledge on a couple of things

I am booked at ASMu Suites for this September and got a free dining pin, and we are booked with that!

We are going to DW in less than 2 weeks (hooray!) and I literally just switched to a family suite a couple days ago (can't believe one was available, but maybe we got lucky because we are going midweek?) Anyway, I had a pin code for free quick-service dining, and was definitely able to use it! We upgraded to regular dining (we wanted one sit-down meal a day) and it was about $14/pp/per day for adults.

What did you do to get the FD pin for September? I did all the usual things, updated my profile, ordered a DVD, priced out a trip etc. Got the 20/30/40% off pin. Did you do something different, Disney Visa etc?

I think when the suites were new, the were not included. But I think that was just their first year.
Also, as mentioned the discount only applies to a set number. So it could be there was no availability for whatever discount they wanted when they tried, if they did.

My DH received a PIN code for free regular dining in January -valid from 8/15 to 10/2 with a 5 night stay at a moderate or deluxe. We are booked at POR from 9/6-9/12.

I am not sure how we got our PIN - I have a profile on WDw site but I rarely go on (I work at at travel agency do I do it there). We have been to WDW 10 times in 10 years so maybe that was it. We also got married at WDW last year so maybe that did it.
