If we book during the free dining period via DVC do we also qualify for the free dining plan?:confused3

you are paying to stay in one of the Disney Resorts. If you are staying on DVC points, you can not get the free dining.

Hi minpin3,
As others have mentioned free dining is something Disney offers for their hotels when you pay cash for a reservation. My understanding is that you pay rack rate for the room in order to get the free dining. Meaning there are no discounts for the room. If I am wrong someone please correct me.

When using DVC points you will not have an option for free dining. You can however add the dining plan to your reservation. You will paying the going rate for it and can add it at the time of making reservations.

This is a question I am often ask, so I wanted to share in the instance others were not aware the dining plan could be added to a DVC reservation.

Exactly. The only way you can participate in the Free Dining promotion is if you are paying full rack rate and that there are rooms available associated with free dining. You would also need to call CRO to book this.

The free dining promotion is available ONLY to guests booking a full price room plus tickets package at a Disney resort through Walt Disney Travel Company. Guests booking with DVC points are not eligible - although they may purchase the dining plan for their full stay at the regular price. (You need to book a DVC resort - or any other resort - through a cash purchase with CRO, pay full rack rate and buy at least a one day Magic Your Way theme park ticket for everyone in your party age 3 and over if you want the free dining. There isn't any other way to get it.)

Free dining packages can also be booked with AAA Travel Agencies. But, in the experience of our neighbor, they can't explain the package accurately, they can't tell you the correct locations of restaurants, and they can't keep straight which restaurants are signature dining, so we had to straighten it all out for them!

Just book your DVC villa on cash through DRC and get the package deal. Then you can get the "free" dining plan.

Travel agents may book the packages - travel agents book through WDTC.

If you book through a third party like Expedia, you can't book the package reservations and you can't add the dining plan, free or not.

In my experience WDW-DINE can't tell you any of that info with accuracy, either...
