Free Dining Fall 2015? (and a whole lot more)

So, what exactly IS this free dining I hear about?:rolleyes1

It's a promotion where if you purchase a package (meaning room and tickets), you get the dining plan for free. Typically, the value resorts get the quick service dining plan, while the moderates and deluxes get the regular plan.

Joining in to watch... Hoping for 9/20-9/27. Can't go without it.

Question: If I am a Disney VISA card holder do I have to use that card to book my package with FD if I get it before it is offered to the general public? I know that answer is more than likely yes, but I only have to pay the deposit with it right? I'm still free to pay for the remainder of the trip as I choose??

Yes you only have to pay the deposit when you book if you book before the general public and you can finish paying for the rest of the trip however you want.

I wish I just knew! I keep bouncing fromPOR to CB because of rumours of not al resorts being included. If I don't get free dining I will be happy with another discount ( I really don't need dessert lol)

Has anyone done a split stay and free dining? How did the tickets work out? I'm having a heck of a time figuring out how we can do this without spending over $3,000 for park tickets. I don't want to sound like a whiny baby, but I really want to stay at the Poly for part of the trip and the Yacht Club for the other half, with 10 day park tickets and free dining. So far I am coming up with nothing but roadblocks, the biggest one being the tickets.

You have to put at least 2 tickets on both reservations, so you'll end up spending more than necessary for tickets since the first few days are the most expensive.

Maybe take a room discount on one of the halves instead.

Or we'll have to not do a split stay at all. I've run the math at least a dozen times, and free dining will save us more than a resort discount. And it improves our trip.

It's really frustrating that you can't stay at more than one hotel on your trip and link longer tickets and 2 hotel stays to the same trip. Disney really should make it so you can do a package with multiple hotels. If you check out of one of their resort hotels on one day and check in to another one on the same day it should all be considered one trip, and the tickets and promotion should carry over. The WDW resort is so large, that moving hotels is very reasonable.

I would not bet on POR being included (unless they split the September booking from the fall booking for FD). It seems like they continue to get MORE restricted instead of less on resorts. We have stayed at POR every time for FD until last year when we stayed CSR because the FD was not offered at POR. BUT--if you are one that tends to get PIN codes (which I am not, sadly), those DID have POR as an option during the FD time. I hope it works out for you how you want it!

Joining as well. Do you know if they do free dining in the first week of December (the week after Thanksgiving)? Trying to weigh all options for a 4 night trip to see the Christmas decorations.

Agreed! We were able to stay at POR with FD when it was excluded due to our pin code. I am betting if we go in September we wind up at CBR due to POR most likely being excluded again. I love POR, it is my favorite, but I will be just as happy at CBR. Hey, it's Disney!!!:earboy2:

waiting to know is sooooooo hard! I wish they would offer something soon (i know they won't) :(

This will be our 6th trip to Disney with the kids but first trip where all our kids will be 3 and up. we are a family of 6 and I have played around with pricing between 2 rooms for us vs a family suite. It appears a family suite will be the better deal.
1)If we book before the deal goes out ( we can always move our dates around), does anyone know if the suites at all star music will be included or just the suites at art of animation?
2) Do we have a better chance of getting the deal at one or the other?
We usually stay moderate resort so this is new to us. TIA

Suites in music were included, too.

Your chances are probably better at AoA, only because there are a greater number of suites. Nemo I believe is the quickest to go.
