Free Dining Fall 2015? (and a whole lot more)

I think 2012 is the last time free dining was offered in Jan. There are usually Stay, Play, Dine discounts for most of Jan though.

DH, and 4 kids hoping for POR or CBR (my littlest is 2, so it's our last year as a group of 5) for Sept 2-13th. I'm also booking for my mom and her husband at any value resort I can get her with Free Dining :)

I will check here at 7:03 tomorrow (just like I did today :) ) before I call in myself

This is us as well. Baby #4 to arrive in June. It is my understanding that not all standard rooms at CBR and POR sleep 5+1. How do you ensure to get one of these? Do they just know by the number of people on the ressie?

I have a Disney Visa and plan on calling early on Monday if the rumor holds true. Being on the west coast, probably won't get up at 4am, but will shoot for 5am/8 am EST. From your experiences in the past, what are the chances of the Pop selling out?

Since we have already committed to going and our October dates seem to fall in the free dining dates, I also have a question about the new reservation. We have a standard rack rate room already reserved and we booked it before the ticket prices went up. Will they honor that ticket price?

BTW - I am so excited about this trip and between choosing the best resort, restaurants. learning the transportation etc. I feel like I'm studying to pass the bar exam! Not complaining, I love the planning but I'm logging a lot of planning hours :)

You will have to pay the new ticket prices.

I just gotta say that I would not be at all surprised to see Disney stop the FD on Dec. 21st. We have went at Christmas the last 2 years and what a difference it was between this year and the year before. There were soooo many more people there this year it was down right unreal. It was so bad that when I was in Epcot on the 28th I kept thinking that if my son would have been with me, I would have lost him in the crowd. It was 5pm! You seriously could hardly walk in there so you can imagine what it was like that morning in MK. We left there around noon because it was so bad. They really have no need to continue the dining if people are going to be packed in there already like sardines. The economy is getting better and business sense would tell me not to offer FD. It's in business to make money after all. It makes me sad but, I would totally understand their reasoning. Just my opinion.

Can anyone show what black has posted? I always have a problem finding his page.

Is it the same as the info posted on here tonight?

I just found it and liked his page. It's facebook .com/orlando by joe. He made a post this month about his change to Orlando that says:

"In my life, I've visited so many things in Orlando. After much deliberation, I've decided to expand my horizons. This page will slowly be rebranded to "Orlando By Joe". Don't worry, the Disney information will continue as always; however, I now feel more free to discuss other parks and attractions in this wonderful town as well. I hope you're all as excited as I am, since I have so much I want to share with you all. A change is in the winds!!!!!"

If you have 5 people on the reservation that count towards capacity they will only put you in an accommodating room. If there are no more they will tell you there is no availability.

We are already booked at POR for 10/7-10/12 and our dates aren't really flexible since it's my sister's wedding at Disney that we're going for. So if the rumors prove true, we're out of luck. I have a few newbie questions though. Do people ever receive pins after they have booked? Is there a chance they will offer other fall discounts as well, like a room discount? I realize the answer to both those questions is probably no, but I'm looking for a little shred of hope to cling to!

Yes, people get pins after booking. Yes, there is usually a room discount too.

Smitch mentioned how the south american offers are available for DVC FD first. If that were true it could be DVC tomorrow and GP Monday. Not 100% either way but people are going to call and find out.
Not exactly. Lol! l What I said was that I didn't think SA residents could get a DV, but they have the booking date as 4/27, which was odd. I still think that will likely be our Visa date, though. The public offer could be 4/30 or 5/1. Anything is possible, though, and at this point, I'm sure several people will call in each day to check. :)

Kinda a silly question.....we are booked for Pop and deluxe dining. If FD is available for our dates will be be able to upgrade twice from QSDP to DDP?

I am planning to stay at POP and got the Visa just to get early access to make sure I get it. Last year the only resort available for my dates at the time I booked (7am on general public release date) online was ASSports. Shortly after that when I was playing with dates I found that POP was available, but only the upgraded pool view rooms or whatever they are called. So is everyone saying that POP does not sell out quickly under the FDD? That I don't have to stress about not getting it?

Your sister should have a discounted room block where guests book at a reduced rate.

If you have a Disney Visa do you have to eventually put your whole trip on the Visa card or can you qualify by just putting the $200 deposit and then pay the difference with another card?

I would love to try CBR although the snake thing kinda freaking me out. My fam loves POR and my DD refuses to stay anywhere else..LOL
So we may just keep everything as is.

We never saw a single snake (or any other creepy creature) at CBR when we were there, but DH DID tell our twins, who were preschoolers at the time, that there were crocodiles in the water at the beach areas to keep them from plunging into the water where they weren't supposed to go! Wonder if they remember that and still believe it

They are having a very small wedding, just immediate families, so I don't think the wedding package she has with Disney includes this. I will double check with her though--thanks for letting me know!

It's my understanding that yes, you can. Which makes sense to me, since under normal circumstances, you could make that upgrade. It's basically just taking off the cost of the quick service plan. Disney will be happy to take more of your money. =)

You only have to use the DV to pay the $200 deposit. You can pay the balance on any card.

Yes, you can upgrade. It is $18 per adult per night.

Oh goodness, so many NEW PAGES of posts since I was on at lunchtime today! :mic::mic::mic:

So, here is my contribution: this afternoon, speaking to my TA, she heard from a Disney emp that a special offer is coming VERY SOON,but it won't be on Monday because they have not ramped up staff for Monday.

Soooo, maybe Tuesday??? :tongue::tongue::tongue:
