Free Dining Extension ~ Oct-Dec

Wow they said that both cars land and star wars land will be coming to HS by 2018 that is awesome news! was in need of some fresh stuff!!

As long as they start construction on both after October/November, I'm more than good with that. My DH, DS and DD are huge star wars fans but cars, not do much. I want to see lights, motor, action & the back lot tour again before they destroy it.

I'm with you! I really hope they don't start that major construction until after our trip. Then we will wait until 2018 to go back.

When my daughter received the pin it said, Since you have been here before, we wanted to make it easy for you to come back and see us again. That is why we serving up this scrumptious special offer, with lots of dates to pick from. There are not a lot of rooms open for this offer. so wishing lots of pixie dust your way.:tinker:

Yeah but that doesn't explain why some of us who have been going since we were born has never received one. I'm on so many of their lists it isn't even funny.

Probably all the best, not sure I can afford a second trip this year.

Just wanted to share this, and of course WE already know this, but I recently bought a book on ways to save money at WDW (sorry, the title shall remain nameless as to not break any "rules"). And right there, in print, it said to "just ask" for Free Dining when you call, because it is a Disney practice to apply this at random. ;)

I know that is not true as I have done this a couple of times and it has NEVER worked. It may very seldomly work, but it's not a practice at all.

When an offer comes out to Disney Visa card holders first, do you just get an email the day of? Prior notice???

You will find out on this site before anything is released by Disney Visa. Emails are hit or miss and the website often doesn't have the deal listed until mid-morning/early afternoon.

Same here, no code for me. Thanks for your tips as to what may come for free dining.

I'm a Disney Visa cardholder as is my daughter and neither of us has ever gotten an email regarding an offer.

I have never received one either all I ever get is the Thanks from your pals and it is for the video or the letterhead. I keep receiving those everyday. I do not know how she received it.

You're supposed to get advance notice, but I never did get a notice from Disney Visa about the September offer. If my daughter hadn't found Disboards, we wouldn't have known about it till after it went to GP offer.

I have had the Disney Visa since 2005 and I have never received an email regarding their free dining promotion. I believe this past offer for September did not show up on their website until 1:00 pm. Disney phone lines open at 7:00 am eastern; that's a lot of time for the most popular rooms/resorts to get scooped up. I used to always find out first on Mouse Savers, but now that I found Dis, it is on here!:thumbsup2

I recently got a Disney Visa card and did get an email notice from them for the free dining. Obviously, the DISboards knew first! But if you are not getting emails, you might need to set up an account with them online and specifically sign up for email notifications.

Thank you for that tip.:) However, in my case, I do everything on line, including managing my Disney Visa. I frequently get emails from them about promotions, just not Free Dining. I received the promo for $50 off runDisney marathon entrance fees, 20% off BBB, ect., just not free dining:confused3

Edit: And I did update my account again in January, so I wouldn't miss anything! : )

I do have my DVC set up online and signed up for email notifications, even called their customer service number to make sure everything was ok with that so I would receive advance notice of the FD offer, but still didn't receive any notice of the Sep offer.

Maybe we are on the free dining banned list?:rotfl2:

In my case, I think they just think "Joe comes every year, we won't worry about him"....:rotfl2: Sometimes it feels that way.

Or it could just be that they know you're an *expert Disboarder* (not to mention having your own Disney blog) and figure you'll know when & what discounts are being offered anyway. :thumbsup2

Oh, I did actually get the Disney Visa email around 2pm that day. Better late than never I suppose. :confused3

At least you got the notice - feel better now?
