Free Dining & DVC?

I know this is probably a big "No", but I thought I would ask anyway. With the free dining just announced, do DVC members ever get to take advantage of the free dining when staying on points? The very last dates for March are the exact dates of our trip: 2 bdrm at BCV! Wow wouldn't that be something?!!

Figured as much! DVC members can dream, right? Wouldn't hurt to give their best frequent customers a break now and then, would it?

It's a big NO. Guests booking the free dining promotion participate in a tradeoff - they're booking rack rate rooms and they have to buy tickets from Disney. I've seen it suggested that Disney should just let DVC members have free dining. Not sure what business sense that would make. I don't think it makes sense for Disney to just give us free food for booking the rooms we have already paid for.

Free dining is the most effective promotion WDW has ever come up with, so they're getting lots of persons to book resorts that would not have booked otherwise. I can't see the logic in offering it to DVC members. The ones who argue for it say it should be done as a loyalty program, but we are going to book with DVC anyway.

I didn't expect it to be a YES answer. Just wish we could feel the love every now and then, ie: better discount on tickets or dining. Just a wish! I'll survive. I know they have us right where they want us. Not a doubt in the world that we all will be back to WDW. We're all hooked!

We get a good annual pass discount! And with an annual pass you're eligible for a TIW membership that gets 20% off most WDW restaurants (although not most counter service). Doesn't help those who don't want APs though.
