Free Dining Dates??

I've been hearing that the free dining dates are starting Aug 30... does anyone know "for sure" if that's when they will begin? We are going Aug 19 and was hoping for a little luck!

Nobody will know for sure until the plan is announced, however it'll probably be leaked here a bit sooner than the actual official announcement.

Bounce Back and UK will know their dates, but last year their program ran a little longer than the general plan. I know for sure that the check-in date at the end was later with Bounce Back and UK was later, Sept 29. General public ran until Sept 22.

We were there this past September for Free Dining and the bounceback dates they offered us were August 30 - Septeber 27 2008. The official announcement should come out the first week of April and be open the first few days to Disney Visa holders and then to the generl public. My husband refused to book the bounceback because the heat and the crowds were so much worse than we thought they would be. He said Disney would have to pay him to go for "Free" dining again. lol So we'll be going back mid-December, that's our favorite time.

Thanks for the correction, I was told by others that it was Sept 29 (The last Saturday in Sept). Apparently you had to check in by that Thursday (the 27th)

In 2006 the start date I believe was the 15th? We were lucky to be there during that time and got the free dining, was just hoping for it again for the trip!!

2006 actually started on the 13th (8/13-9/30/06). 2006 also was a little different in that the original offer was supposed to expire on 6/4 for bookings made for stays 8/13-9/30/06, but then on 6/2/06 it was extended to 6/25/06 to be able to book stays from 8/20-9/30/06.

In 2007 the "Bounceback" people got 8/5-9/29/07, the UK people got 8/12-9/29/07, and the Disney VISA/general public got 8/26-9/22/07.

So far for 2008, the UK people have 8/10-9/27/08, and the "Bounceback" people have 8/30-9/27/08.

Whew! Here's hoping for something for you this year - you just never know what they will offer!
