Free dining coming may 2!!!!!!

They should be checking availability for you on the FD at your hotel of choice first--then changing over your ressie for FD. If your choice hotel isn't available for FD, you can just keep your current ressie in tact, no changes made.

Thanks for the info.

Can anyone answer the other question, if FD promo comes out May 2nd what time would it normally show up on WDW web site?

Yes, but approx what time to they update their website to show it so people can book online?
I'm guessing it can't be much earlier than 7 or internet users would have an unfair advantage. jmho:goodvibes

Mousesavers is saying it's only a 3 nt minimum stay. I hope this is correct. We're booked for 4 nts now & I'm not sure I can leave work early to catch a 7pm flight to make it a 5 nt stay.

Does anyone know what time they usually post such specials online?

I'm thinking....should we see this online before 7am on Monday, and if not should I call at 7am anyway and hope the CM knows what I'm asking for?

Also, what happens if they change the code on our existing ressie to the FD code, and then discover that a room is not available in our hotel of choice? I know we could go somewhere else but we don't want to....so could the CM then change the code back to the % off rate that we had, even though that special is no longer available?

GG

There have been MANY times in the past when the promos have not shown up on the WDW website until a day after they are open to the public. And even if the promo code is on-line, you still can't add a code to an existing reservation on-line, so you have to call WDW reservations either way. You just need to call the reservations line when they open ask for the code to be applied. They will be able to tell you immediately if there are rooms open for your resort under that code.

It never is. The best thing to do is call WDW Reservations when they open at 7 a.m. est.

Free dining promotions have ALWAYS had a 3 night booking minimum and a 14 night maximum. The 5 day quote is only for advertising purposes and does not go to the actual booking guidlines.

How much is the deposit?

Also if just one day of your stay overlaps the deal is that good enough?

Deposit is $200 and yes one of your days is enough. The offer is valid through 9/24 however my travel dates are 9/24-10/1 and since I'm arriving during the offer, I can get the promo for my whole trip. If you're booking now with your Disney Visa card, you have to put at least the deposit on your Disney Visa card. If you are converting an existing reservation to this promo, you have to put at least $200 additional on your Disney Visa. I already paid my deposit so if I wanted to add this promo for Visa holders, the CM told me I'd have to put at least $200 on my card when I booked it.

For those of you who were booked with the room discount promo that was out back February I think (I remember mods was 30% off I think bc I'm staying at a mod), I'd suggest getting a price quote. We have the room discount promo and are staying at a mod and upgraded to DxDP and the package came out to be $40 more. It would probably be about $40-$50 less if that photo book loop hole wasn't in there. So it wasn't worth it to me to switch.

Good luck!!

I'm sick in my stomach:sick:. I have been waiting so patiently for the FDD with hope that we would get it. We r there Aug 18-27. Figures they would start it on the 28th. O well, atleast we got the 30% off the room. Maybe they will change the dates and add some in the beginning!? I can only dream, right?

i don't think its free. i think they are giving you the opportunity to purchase it at a discount of 99.99 or something. i read it on another thread i think.

We went last September. Although we got the Photo Pass, we asked the photographer to also take a picture with our camera. To be honest, the shots were better on our camera, than the ones on Photopass. So, we put together our own book on Snapfish. A much better value!

Ack!!

I so want to cash in on this deal! I am dying to take my 3 y.o to WDW!

I need to get the process down as I can make the dates work! :cool1:

Let me see if I have it right..

I book (reserve) with my travel agent.. in my case Air Canada Vacations.. I am thinking POP for the first week after labour day weekend.

Early on Monday AM, I call Disney (with promo code in hand) and ask them to apply the FDP to my ressie? Is this correct.. assuming there are rooms available in that resort still available?

And to make sure I understand the "deal"...

We are booking 5 days, so that should cover the min stay issue and debating POP versus AKL.

What is this "photo book" deal?? My husband was thinking this "has to be the fine print / hidden "gotcha"" <insert eye roll> ;)

Must buy park tickets.. I think this can be done through my TA too.

(Also we are most likely going to buy an upgrade to the deluxe plan and DH is picky about his food!)

Am I missing anything.

You don't need a TA to make a reservation at WDW. In fact, if you use a TA, they own your reservations and you can't, personally, make any changes or add any discount codes to your reservation.

To qualify for a free dining promo you must book a Magic Your Way Package, which includes resort, tickets (2 day minimum) and dining. Free dining as a 3 night minimum and a 14 day maximum. If you stay at Pop Century you will received the Quick Service Plan and if you stay at AKL you will receive the Basic Plan. Really, unless you are doing mostly 2 credit signature meals, the deluxe can be a waste of money.

The Photopass is "included" with your free dining package, but in actuality they have added in the $100.00 or so cost into the price of the free dining packages. That's all.

Thanks so much for responding :worship:

I'm so glad I asked....I would have just waited until I saw it posted on their web site!

Would I have to give them the code and if so where would I find it?

Thanks
GG
