Free dining coming may 2!!!!!!

I just calculated... I booked sometime March with room % disct for POFQ. Since it's just me and DS 7, the pk cost wasn't too bad for our 6 night/7day stay for Sept 24~30. Free dining still saves about $70~80 so I'll be calling Disney once again on May 2 for change. :goodvibes

Aren't we lucky that just made the cut off date of Sept 24!? We already bought our air tix so there's no way we could change the dates to save $70~80 and spend $150 for change.

I'm not quite positive on the time, but I do recall in the past calling early am for free dining.

Phone lines are open at 7am for ADR's. I guess it is the same for vacation package bookings then. Just wanted to make sure.....I will be at work at that time so it isn't going to be easy....maybe I'll shut myself into a meeting room when I make the call :thumbsup2

Has anyone priced it out yet to see if the photo book is actually free or they raised the price to include it? At least mods get basic dining and not quick...

It isn't free it is something in the pricing. The diffrence is around 90.00
Here is ours if Free dining was offered without the book and with.
pop Century 10 days standard room for 2 adults 2 children
1927.46
With book current FD promo
2018.36

I called and priced it out. In the past, you could figure out your free dining costs ahead of time by going online and getting a quote for a package without discounts and no dining included. When free dining came out, that would be your price. This time, the price difference was about $117 more for me. When I asked the CM about it, she said the photo book had a value of $72. Not how the numbers come out there exactly. In other threads, people have reported different numbers than mine.

Ok, got the papers today. We asked for 8 days of tickets, but they gave us 9. So the difference is $90.90, not $117. That's about what everyone else was saying.

I just made my ressies for POP on Aug 30 - Sept 5. :cool1:

It's $90 more than what you price it out online because you are paying for the Memories book.

Work sure gets in the way sometimes, lol. Just kidding...so glad I have a jobn

I'm so glad to hear about FD, I am really hoping they do the whole extend thing, since we are looking to take my neice and nephew in June next year (or maybe December of this year, I still haven't decided).

On a side note, they already offered these dates for the 2010 FD promo, right? I could have sworn that they offered it through 9/29. I have a feeling that this is a sort of 'teaser' promo, and they are going to release the extended dates for FD*. I am just so happy, this would save me a bunch of moola since we're going from a party of 2 adults to a party of 4.:thumbsup2

*That is just my ameteur opinion anyway. :goodvibes

The dates just don't work for us  Missing school is not more important that WDW, there I said it! ;)
Oh, it toally is! We have taken our kids out of school for one week for the last 7 years to go to WDW and the low rates, low crowds and free dining are totally worth it!

i don't think its free. i think they are giving you the opportunity to purchase it at a discount of 99.99 or something. i read it on another thread i think.

Here is the thing...When I go to the photo pass site to look at purchasing the CD, the book is listed for $79.95. So they have raised the price of it by $10. Atleast that is what it looks like to me:confused3

Is there tax?

I have to say I am liking the lack o response to this offer, only because it completely fits into my vacation dates :rotfl: I've already booked our vaca with the % off room rate, but the free dining offer is a waaaaaay better deal for my fam. Man, kids get more expensive when they go from 9 to 10 ;)
I'm goin to be on the phone at precisely 7:15 Mon am (right after the smallish one gets on the bus).

I hate to admit it but I agree. I am sorry that it doesn't work for so many people who I'm sure were hoping for it as much as me but this works perfectly for when we wanted to go. We were wanting to go for 10 days starting August 29th.

Our TA has all our information and is all set to book for us Monday.

I am so excited I can barely contain myself. What will I be like when it is actually booked!!!

I'll hope for an extension for everyone else. In the meantime, I can't help but be happy for me.:woohoo:

well, we are a night short... we are only staying 4 nights, not 5 - so looks like we won't be able to get it! I hate that, because didn't it used to be 3 nights???:headache:

All free dining promos require a 3 night minimum and have a 14 night maximum. Disney always uses 5 night stays as an example in advertising and promotions, not as a hard and fast rule for actual booking.

Does anyone know what time they usually post such specials online?

I'm thinking....should we see this online before 7am on Monday, and if not should I call at 7am anyway and hope the CM knows what I'm asking for?

Also, what happens if they change the code on our existing ressie to the FD code, and then discover that a room is not available in our hotel of choice? I know we could go somewhere else but we don't want to....so could the CM then change the code back to the % off rate that we had, even though that special is no longer available?

GG

They should be checking availability for you on the FD at your hotel of choice first--then changing over your ressie for FD. If your choice hotel isn't available for FD, you can just keep your current ressie in tact, no changes made.
