Free Dining- Category Booking

Hi, all! Frequent lurker. So, we have started looking at September 2015! Yay! Hoping that this new school fall break gets approved and we can hit up WDW the last week in September. Also hoping that FREE DINING continues the trend and falls during my week. I know...lots of hoping going on.

So for now, my question is for those of you that booked free dining this year (2014). Were you able to get a standard room at deluxe or mod or were you forced into other room categories to get the free dining? Our last free dining trip was 2011 and it was all resorts, all categories. However, I know that there have been many more restrictions in recent promos. Thanks so much. Hope everyone is having a magical day.

Last I saw the 'free dining' does not include Port Orleans Riverside, French Quarter or Art of Animation.

You get the Quick Service plan at the Value resorts and the Regular Dining plan at both Moderate & Deluxe resorts. More to upgrade the plans.

We took advantage of the free dining offer in Oct '13. We were originally booked at POR in Alligator Bayou. The code offer only let use choose the Mansions/Royal Guest Rooms. So in the past they have been set to a specific category of room types.

It may depend on your dates. If there are empty rooms, they may open up more categories for free dining. If some are already booked, they will not.

I am also looking into free dining at the beginning of Oct. 2015. I am guessing it will be offered for 7days/6nights. If we do value resort with base tickets does anyone know what the estimated cost would be for a family of 2 adults and 2 kids(ages 7&9)?

You can go into the Disney website to price it, just don't include the dining plan and that would give you the free dining price. Room will be at full price.
