Free Dining at Disney again

Wow! Thankyou very much for posting that! Me and DD got the free dining last year - what a great deal.
If only I hadn`t promised DH no WDW trips this year :rotfl2:

Wow, what a great deal for the people visting at that time :bounce:

I think a lot of poeple might have been waiting to book at this time in case last years offer was repeated, so the attendance will be sky rocketing

Have a great time with the free dining if you are ablke to get it :thumbsup2

I rang the us number, and was told that my trip is eligible for the promotion but with a uk reservation number you have to ring the uk number which is 087024 24 900

Hi..Paula....I booked my package months ago for Late August...7 nights at WL with 14 day ulitimate tickets and dining.....I could scream because I booked throught disney UK...I think on that number you gave.....I called them yesterday and they told me I could not apply free dining to my package because I have booked thru the UK number...Anyone know more about this??

Can you cancel and rebook with WDW in Florida?

I just spoke with Disney and she said the best thing to do is book it with an American agent (like Dreams Unlimited). We can't book the free dining directly through Disney in the UK. As for having already booked, we booked for last week of September to stay on-site with Dining and paid a £100 deposit. If the free dining works out to be cheaper by more than £100 then its worth losing the deposit through Disney.

If the room prices stay the same the free dining should be worth £280 (£20 a day each for 7 days) for dh and I, so it should be a considerable savings (£180 savings buys lots of DVD's at Walmart!!!).

Dreams Unlimited will give me the full quote on Tuesday when the prices come out. Will let you know what we decide to do!

If I cancel with disney UK i lose £200 deposit :furious: ....A way round it is to change my booking with disney UK to tickets only...as I want to keep the ulitimate tickets anyway. I would only pay £25 to change the booking from the full package to tickets only.
I could then book through disney Usa...for hotel and one day base tickets..thus getting free dining.
I've worked out that my saving if I do this for WL..the same hotel Iam booked with...is £331..plus we would have a one day base ticket each extra which we could save for a future trp.

The thing is this seems complicated and there may be no rooms available at WL when I call on Tuesday...plus I have checked thease prices on the dis UK site buit I don't know if they will be the same as dis usa.

I was tod that because I had booked with disney.co.uk I woud have to go through the uk number but I was still eligible.

:( :sad1: We can't get free dining and now the first 9 days in October is going to be really busy too :( :sad1:

we were there during free dining last year and i didn't notice that it was any more crowded in the parks....i think the most that happens is that people who were planning on coming anyway switch from offiste to onsite...
other than that, people who were coming anyway get free food....

but i don't think there were actually more people overall in the parks...

in fact, when we were there during free dining, the parks were practically empty (compared to July)....

coming back to edit my response--
i just noticed that free dining isn't available in october - so why do you think that October will be busier now?

I think because anyone checking in on 30th sept can get free dining for up to 10 days....thus running into October. :wizard:

Paula please let us know if you have any luck getting free dining thru the UK number. :thumbsup2
Iam going to try tomorrow myself.....Has anyone else ever gotten free dining with the ultimate ticket package?

:stir: hmmm, looking into my crystal ball I see.... I see... yes it's getting clearer... a solo trip to WDW in September... :stir:

Must get magic potion ready for DH!! :rotfl2:

Ive posted this in resorts but am doing it here as well

Can I book a 10 day stay at Pop Century, and a 5 day stay at Pop Century with the minimum 1 day ticket on each and still get the disney dining plan. While using an annual pass (I thought it was lost with my driving licence found it last night as I was chasing a mouse in my bedroom, got fed up of mouse chasing and sent in three cats to get it btw) to get into the parks?

Just to echo what Beth says. We were there in August last year and it was no busier in the parks than the previous Augusts we have gone (when there was no free dining plan).

It did seem to be busier in the restaurants though.

this past year i was a lucky dog and got to be at WDW in July, then again in the second half of August, then again in September..
the restaurants were of course packed in July...
however in both august and september we were able to walk into every restaurant we wanted and get immediate seating.....
so the free dining didn't get in our way at all (we didn't have free dining, as it works out much more expensive for us)..

Lucky you Beth! Maybe we were unlucky but ended up waiting 40 mins at the Cape May Cafe (who were turning away walk ups), 25 at the Crystal Palace (also turning away walk ups) and we had waits of 15 minutes or so at a number of other places including Boma, Le Cellier (neither of which were accepting walkups) & Spoodles (who were accepting walkups)

I guess we were. These are the restaurants we were able to walk into and get immediate seating in the second half of August and again in September (but based on Miffy's experience, you shouldn't bank on this happening):
Whispering Canyon for breakfast
1900 Park Fare for breakfast
50's Prime Time for lunch and dinner
Citricos for dinner (twice)
GF cafe for dinner (twice)

I think that's all (though i feel as if i'm forgetting something). We ate at other restaurants in July but I made advance reservations for those.
