Free Dining Anonymous (and a whole lot more)

My dates are 9/13-9/20. This is a double-family vacation and we are all waiting with fingers crossed for FD! :cool1:

And since my DH isn't a huge Disney fan, he may as well let me go with them, then he won't have to!

My BIL doesn't care for Disney so my sister and her kids go with me and mine (I am divorced). Everyone is happy and I do all the planning.

My kids are all pretty close in age but even a girl versus a boy, for that matter!

We have taken one trip without DH. While he doesn't love disney, he hates missing out if the kids are having fun. I am thinking next trip he could drop us off at disney while he and the youngest head to the ocean for a fishing trip.

Hmmm. My DS8 has been asking to go fishing. That's what he wanted to do for his birthday actually. I'll send the 2 of them off with your husband and son!

Seriously though, maybe that's something I should think about also, splitting up my DH/oldest, who like to take it easy more, and the rest of us do some extra days at the parks for part of our next Disney vacation.
Of course my husband wants to do Sea World and the boys will want to do LegoLand so we may have to shorten our Disney park time as it is. :sad1: We are saving Universal for the trip after next when they are all older. My kids are not huge coaster fans anyway, although I imagine they would like the themes of some of the rides there.

O.K. So over the weekend we finally broke down and bought a new oven. I've only been eyeing it up for a year and a half now! I should probably mention that I got a glass top that just happens to have the burners suspiciously close to looking like a Hidden Mickey. Not that that was the primary feature that I chose it, but it certainly didn't chase me away! Now I NEED to buy a new tea kettle to "match" my stove. I'm thinking the black and white "Gourmet Mickey" one with the hidden Mickey pattern on it. I'm sure I'll need a couple of coffee mugs to go with it too. ;) Maybe that will get me through until I get to go back... or not ...I'll still be planning the next trip, I'm sure. BUT at least I can do it while drinking my coffee out of a "cup of magic" mug!

Hi I have stayed on property twice before but thus time we got free dining with our resort booking in the uk. My question is myself DH and DS(who is 12yrs) all gave adult dining. My 2DD's have child dining. We are staying on property. For 14night 15days but on the 10th night stay one of my DD turns 10. I have asked if her dining plan converts to an fault, but no one can answer this. I don't want to get stuck with paying the extra charge for an adult meal. We have already made all our ADRs for the duration. Can anyone explain how this is going to work. Does thus mean she will have to eat off the child's menu, even though they are meant for 9yrs and under.

You definitely need the kettle AND the cups.

Thanks! I knew I could count on everyone's support here. :goodvibes I just love how the cups say "cup of magic" on them.

I have them all in my shopping cart right now, actually! Thank goodness the tea pot isn't showing available or I'd be tempted to get that for tea parties with the kids too! We've been just using individual cups now though, so I guess they'll survive without it. It will be something to look forward to purchasing in the future.

She will be 9 for tickets and dining for the duration of the trip.

Yes..well...the ones I can upload.

:lmao: Ok, I've got to stop eating lunch while reading the Dis as I almost spit chips on my computer. :lmao:

We so need to have a Dis Meet with everyone from the original group.

I hear the top 3 Halloween costumes for this year are expected to be Alla, Elsa and Olaf. I think Joe should dress as one of them and post the pics

I plan to count the number of Annas and Elsas we see. :rotfl: We are going as The Avengers. Can't wait!

He didn't convert after last years trip huh????

No, I'm afraid not. He's not totally dragging his feet now though since he sees how much the kids like it. And he's not saying at least 5 years out as he had originally, so that's something! I pretty much have him talked into spring 2016, but I'm still trying for sooner!

Lol baby steps! After we went in 2012 my DH said 2014. Than we went in 2013.....his idea. When we were down there he said let's start planning for a trip in 2016. So he's hooked. I'd go every year if I could afford it.

My stove has a hidden mickey too. (top row has three burners, middle one is a warmer). I have the mickey hand spoon rest next to it. So don't forget to add that as well. :thumbsup2

Oooh. Thanks. I'll have to look for a spoon rest now! And there's always potholders I guess.
