Quick question.... When you receive your bill at a restaurant during free dining does the bill still show the amount you would have paid if not for free dining?

I would like to know the amount in total I would have paid so I can calculate my tip accordingly. I can't remember how I did it last time.

I may even look at a few menus so I can budget for it.

Thanks!

Yes if I'm not mistaken, your receipt will show you the total you would have paid plus a suggested tip amount.
I plan on saving all of my receipts this year to see if we come out ahead on DDxP.

All tipping discussion on the Restaurant boards (this applies to ALL tipping discussion) is relegated to the Tipping Information Thread on the main Restaurant board.

However...go to the 2012 Dining Plan prices and brochure sticky on this page. Open the PDF link for the brochure. On page 2 of that brochure you will see an example of a DDP receipt with the full menu price of the meal and the calculated suggested tip amounts.

It should also be mentioned that free dining does not work any differently from paid dining when you are at the restaurant. All dining plan receipts look the same, whether you received the dining plan as part of the free dining promotion or not.
