Free Dining and Fort Wilderness?

Can you get the free dining package if you book at fort wilderness during the promotion? I was thinking of doing a surprise trip. We aren't supposed to be going until Oct. '08, but I would love to go camping, and a surprise trip! TIA!

Someone asked this question earlier. I believe they said you can get the free dining if you are in a cabin not a campsite. You can however pay for the dining plan with a campsite. Hope this helps.

Hi, I called about 2 hours ago and asked that very question, Could I book a tent site and get the free dining and the CM said yes. Double check! you never know til you ask. As I say, There is no harm in asking!

I'd TRIPLE CHECK !!!

Historically only the cabins have been eliglible for the free dining program. I'll cheer on anyone who can get a campsite w/ free dining, but I wonder if the CM was not as knowledgeable as others.

This is another case of 'I hope I'm wrong', but I have a feeling that free dining will only pertain to the Cabins.

If I'm wrong, then open up the flood gates and party on!! ... how great will it be if the camper can get the free dining finally

When trying to book the CAMPGROUND online the result page says:

The Resort you selected is not available for this offer. Please select another Resort.

This is a completly different message than what you get when the resort is sold out for the package.

When you look online, the campgrounds don't even show up for it. Just the cabins. Which is almost twice as much what it would be at Sports on the dates I was looking.

i DO see them, but get that response, but I'm not using the public booking engine. but aparently it's against the rules here to discuss what career field I am in. God forbid in talking about my job I might accidentally look like I'm soliciting business. Hope that stupid rule applies to anyone in ANY field - not just travel.

Now, let's please keep this thread on topic and talk about Free Dining at FW. Disney does not include campsites in the Free Dining promotion, but you can buy the Dining package while staying in a campsite. The Free Dining promotion does apply to cabins though!

I got the free dining with the cabins from 9/16 - 9/22. I was trying to get them til the 29th but it wouldn't work. Even though I had a courtesy hold before the 12th when the promo came out, they couldn't modify. What I did (if I am not able to extend the cabin stay) was reserve a preferred campsite for the 2nd week of our stay and we'll just have to leave the camper in the parking lot until we need it (it's a HiLo so it sits lower than a mini van). Staying at another resort just isn't an option for us!

Nope, it's not too late as long as you are traveling during the time the free dining is offered... and you have a package of a min. 3 night stay.
Just call 407-wdisney and find out.

I am surprised that there aren't more restrictions on this deal, but I'm glad there aren't!
