Free Dining and Deluxe DDP

Another question! Sorry for monopolozing this board but I have sooo many questions and you guys have such a wealth of knowledge!

If DH and I were lucky enough to score free dining during the Food and Wine Festival, will Disney let you pay the difference between the free basic plan and the DxDDP?

Generally, yes. I've heard that some of the special packages for UK guests cannot be upgraded, but no one else has ever reported problems. You simply pay the difference.
