Free dining and 2010 blackout dates

I am helping a friend plan a trip from Nov 22 through Nov 28. The free dining promotion is only available from Nov. 12-18 and again from Nov. 27-Dec 2. If they book a package where the last two days are covered by FD, can they have FD over their whole stay?

I know I have heard this question asked and answered before on the podcast, but can't remember the answer now!

No. It's the other way. If you start your trip during the dates you have free dining the whole trip.

Our dates were similar checking in on the 20th, we added 2 days checking in on the 18th and saved $700 for our room and $300 on my grandparent's room (we already had a pin so the savings would have been more.)

Is it possible for them to change their dates? It would be a nice savings. Otherwie, being the week of Thankgiving, they are not going to be able to get much of a deal if at all. A pin woud be the only way and that would be rare.
