Free Dining - adding/removing someone from a ressie

Want to book free dining before the November 5th deadline using Disney website. Problem is, I'm not sure if there will be three of us in the room or 4, as my daughter may want a friend to come with her but she can't decide yet.

Has anyone else done this? I'm not sure what is best to do. Do we just book for the three of us now, and add the additional person later if necessary. If we do, will they still get the free dining?

Or do we book for 4 people now and then remove the fourth person from the ressie later if she decides not to invite them? If we do this, will we still get the free dining and will they still charge us for the fourth park pass?

Thank you. This will be our first visit in a few years. :cheer2:

Call and double check but I think you will be able to do either and keep the free dining.

The only difference is they wave the amendment fees if your cost increases but if it decreases you are charged £50.

With that in mind I would book for 3 and add the friend later if she can come.

Just to confirm pp, I recently added a 4th person to a booking made last year, and it was no problem. Just charged the extra amount (£246 I think??) for the additional ticket and got free dining for the 4th person.

Best wishes

Thank you so much Elise and Sencybil. :) Gonna go ahead and book WL and add the friend later then. We are not going until the last week in August but we are so excited to be going back. We usually stay onsite but this time we are going to try one week onsite and a week in an offsite condo or villa so we can experience more of the non-Disney attractions too.

It seems to depend on the company that was used to book.

From info I have gathered in the past re doing this (and similar like upgrading room choice)

Virgin - Package booking -nightmare making a change and had to battle to get free dining back- and change was only to car hire!! If you make any changes to virgin holidays make sure and get re-invoice that still states free dining.

Complete Orlando- accommodation and tickets booking - would not allow room upgrade (wanted studio upgraded to 1 bed OKW) and still be able to keep free dining.

Disney -we had no issues making changes and keeping dining- but that was quite a few years back.

I booked direct through Disney so hopefully all will be good. My only experience using a UK travel agent was also bad when it came to making changes.
