Free Dining 8/26-9/22-Anyone Else Hear This?

okay ~ if these dates are accurate, how can I work this??

We are planning on arriving 8/23 and departing 8/28. I would need to split the ressie?? I could do room only AAA discount for the first few days but what about tickets? I was planning on getting 10 day non-expiring and saving the rest for another trip. I think I would need to get at least a one day base ticket in order to get the package with free dining right? Has anyone ever split a reservation liek this? Help me! Oh it's all so confusing

THis would be a tough split. You would have to have a room only or another package for 8/23-8/26, then the new package for 8/26-28 (but you won't qualify if there is a 3 day minimum requirement). You would have to buy a new one day ticket for the 8/26-28 package, so if you have tickets for the first package, or beginning of your stay, you will again have to buy another ticket for package number two. If there is a 3 day minimum, then you are out of luck unless you are able to extend another day.

Subscribing...can't wait to hear more! This will work out *okay* for us b/c we can go any time during Sept., but we were planning to go with my sister and her family Sept. 28 through Oct. 7 b/c of the school schedule. I sure hope that the dates are wrong!

I like huggiebears dates so much better since I would like to tailor our trip towards the end of Spet. so we could hit MNSSHP. Quick question. If I book us for Sept. 26-30 would the free dining only apply to the 26th or does it extend for the rest of our dates?

If these are in fact the dates, then I'm going to have to move my dates in from 9/23 to the week prior! Which would be fine I guess, looks like MNSSHP party starts mid-month, so we'd be covered there! Plus that means I'd get to Disney a whole week earlier!

Our dates are 8/21 - 8/30. I was thinking of changing our package thru AAA for 8/21 - 8/25 and then book thru Disney for free dining for 8/26 - 8/30. We've got the 3 day minimum covered. Anyone find something I may have missed? TIA!

That is what I've read also. I wish it was a rumor. Maybe these will be the actual dates, but there will be some small print saying additional dates may be available in limited amount....

Yes you forgot, you'll have to buy double tickets. You'll need tickets for the beginning of your trip, plus the required tickets for the second package.

the only thing I can think of is, were you planning on getting 5 days tickets on your first package then 5 days again for the second package (free dining) Might not be as good a price as 10 day tickets, you know? You would need to price it out both ways I guess or play with the number of days to see what ends up being the best choice money wise.

Oh yes, I do remember that website now. I guess you're right...that IS a reliable source. Now, the waiting is going to be even more painful than when we knew nothing!

We've been praying for Free Dining Pixie Dust for our dates Aug 25- Sept 1st. Looks like we may have to switch it to Aug 26- Sept 2nd which is ok with me! Free Dining Pixie Dust come carry me away to Disney!!

I am happy if these indeed are the dates. I'll be there the beginning of August up to Aug 8 and was hoping there would be no free dining for my dates. Last August, free dining kicked in on Aug 13 and the crowds that came in that day were horrible. EMH's were bad.....almost worse than being in the park at peak times.
Now a friend of mine has free dining and she's there from approximately Aug 5-15 or thereabouts. But she booked in December during a stay at POP and she said it was a promotion ? So maybe only guests who pre-booked this package from an earlier onsite stay got the free dining for early August ?

tell me about it!!! I am going 8/23 - 8/28 and I just racked my brain to figure out how I could split my stay to get free dining. I guess I'm out of luck unless the dates posted are inaccurate. Time will tell!

I'm with you! We are planning Aug 5-12, and I'd rather have less crowds! At first, I was wishing for free dining, but then decided I'd rather just get my AAA room discount and deal with less people.

As far as your friend with free dining, I have read about a promotion for people who were in Disney during a particular time being able to rebook with the free dining promo. I don't get to Disney frequently enough for something like that!
