Go Red Sox!! Have a great trip to Boston. It is such a great city, so easy to get around. And the history!

I love Boston. My husband and I usually try to take a weekend to go up and see a game but the kids haven't seen one yet and they've been begging us. They're both into history too so we're going to see some of that too. My husband saw something about a Freedom Tour that he's going to look into as well. I can't wait to wake them tomorrow and see the looks on their faces when we tell them we're going. I told my husband this morning though, the last time we got up early to go anywhere, we were going someplace warm...not this time lol But it's a good substitute until our Disney trip next year!!

Does anyone have an idea of the dates that will be offered? Is Thanksgiving a no go? Will there be room discounts for Thanksgiving, is that possible?

Thanksgiving is usually blacked out but....if you check in while FD is being offered, you'll have it for up to 14 days of your stay...and that might include Thanksgiving

Any guess if it is Quick dining for Value resorts and the other plans for the other resorts? Why are certain resorts or rooms excluded in the Special offers? Why would Mermaid rooms at AoA and Music when the other Value resorts/ rooms are included? I may have to change resorts.

That's usually how it works as far as plans and resorts but you can pay the difference to upgrade.
The Little Mermaid rooms book without promotions and discounts so they're always excluded.

How does this thread have so many beautiful women posting on it? Is there a screening process and women have to submit a picture to be allowed on this thread? I guess Black has the privilege of allowing you to post. Lucky guy! I guess that is why many of you are such big fans of his.

Not trying to be creepy. I am happily married with children. My wife is hot and would make the list for this thread, too.

There is something very wrong with me!!! I saw your post and my heart jumped and I said outloud (to no one, bc I'm alone in the room) "ooooh, links!"
I know I'm in good company here on disboards, though!

.... and this is why I have worked up a "Plan B" and "Plan C", waiting in the wings just in case POR is excluded!

Wow! This has perked up my ears!
In '12, the day it was released for DV holders, I couldn't call for ressies until I got home from work at around 3pm and I had my choice of several resorts (CM priced out POP, CSR and POFQ for me)

No it was just POR I was trying to get last year and I finally got it later after calling every day...I'm hoping it's extended into Nov. this year and I want to be ready...

If there is an early FD release for Disney Visa holders, that will have to be called in when lines open at 7 am eastern. For a general public release, it is possible there could be a midnight release for online booking of new packages.

I used to have my pic as my avatar and one in my signature, but we were approached by a lot (more than 10!) of people during last year's trip, and it kind of weirded my DH and kids out. They were all WONDERFUL people, but there is always a risk of one of them being not so wonderful, so I scaled my picture posting back a bit. As for why we like Joe, aside from his great info, he is hilarious and he cares about people. Others who brought deals to the boards would only come around and give their predictions and stick around long enough to be patted on the back, but Joe hangs out here because he enjoys the people, just as I do.

OK- Good! I'm a DV holder so this sets my mind at ease.
Best advice for tomorrow (Thur) morning is just to call Disney Central Reservations at 7am EST and say what? "I'm calling to see if FD is being offered for DV cardholders?" I won't get laughed at if I do this, will I?

I've been trying to remain philosophical and calm ever since the news of possible FD came out recently. While it's true, I will be on the phone at 7am Thursday hoping for the best, I look at it this way:

I'm going to Disney anyway, FD or not. I'll take a week and a half of food whether I pay for it or not as long as we're in WDW

Odds are, as long as our resorts of choice aren't excluded, we all should get pretty close to what we want. And really, in the grand scheme of things, how many freaks like us are out there waiting to pounce on the phones on either Thursday or Monday morning anyway? It's like the thousands of people that show up each day to the parks and don't have any idea of what a FastPass is to begin with. Hopefully the dates will work out foe everybody.

It's hard for us who know about FD (and really, would any of us know what the deal is without Mr FD himself? Black, you are the man) to be patient and calm about the whole process. Tom Petty said "The waaaaaaaitng, is the hardest part". Obviously he never was waiting for a FD promo....anyway, it's gonna be alright.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to draft my fourth and fifth backup plans in case I can't get POR, CSR, or CBR.

Ha ha, I agree that there is no big rush...something will always be available (maybe not your first choice, but any Disney resort is great!!) But I think we may be underestimating the number of lurkers on this thread. Did you see how many "likes" Joe has on his Facebook page already? He just started maybe a week ago!!
